  • I won a total of £75 last year and £25 this month. Total holding is just £2.2k, drip £55 a month.

I'm registered online and each time I've won, nsandi have sent me an email telling me to log on and check what I've won.

    Good luck to all!

Yet again my £100 investment failed to win the million. That must be, what, four or five consecutive months I didn't win the jackpot. I'm starting to wonder whether it's all worth it. Perhaps I could write to NS&I insisting I did win, only my winning bond was in my trouser pocket when I washed them?

Take comfort from the fact that you're helping the OP with his academic research, testing his theory on Premium Bond wins. With all the valuable data supplied in this thread, I'm eagerly anticipating his findings.

And isn't it mildly irritating that they can't just put what you've won in the email, so you don't need to go and check?

£75 for me this month, takes my approximate AER to slightly over 1% for the first time.

    Haha, yes that is annoying!

2 x £25 for me this month, so with one more draw still to go in this financial year, I am already at 1.36% return. So spot on for the whole-of-fund total payout and ahead of the average holder return.

Can't use high-interest accounts (non-UK) so my only cash option is NS&I Direct Savings at miserable 1.1%. I figured PBs were worth a punt and would have to win £550 to match it.

New Year's Eve I transferred £50k to PBs, to be eligible for Feb's draw.

I thought 3 x £25 not bad for first ever time - but just received another £500 in the post! In "profit" already, with 10 months to go..

Hope this hasn't screwed the stats too much!
  • I'm a bit disappointed with the returns from Premium bonds ever since they introduced (again) the second 'One Million' pound prize.
It would probably attract more investors if they reverted to one top prize and used the other £Million to create thousands of lower prizes instead.
A few years back they introduced 2 x £Million prizes but had to revert to one when people started withdrawing funds, but they don't seem to have learned by their mistake.

    :(
Trying to learn something new every day.

Just put some money in premium bonds....how exactly does it work?

    Prizes every month? What day?
