i want to cash in some premium bonds, but want to hold them for January’s draw.
What would be the earliest date in January that I can notify NS&I to sell them?

When cashing in bonds, there is an option to cash in the bonds after the next draw. Though I have never used this option, I will probably try it out for the January draw.
Thank you, i have used that facility and NS&I informed me thst the funds will be in my account by the 7th January.

I'm sure you can request cash before draw takes place and state that you want the money after the next draw is done. So you will still have them bond's in the draw. And you may get your money a little quicker after the draw takes place.
  • Didn't win a penny in 2024. :(

Me neither.  But then again, my holding was reduced to £25 for most of it :D

One of the £1million winners only bought their bond in Nov 2024 - so this must be their first draw and they won a cool million?   Jammy git.
Says that bond was purchased on nov 24 but that they have a large holding (full 50k?) so possibly very very lucky, or just lucky but had lots already and topped up to maximum.

Nothing in 2024 for me either, according to MSE's calculator, the odds of that on my holding are less than 5% :(

Debt free - finally finished paying off £20k + Interest.

My husband and I chucked £100k into premium bonds last month and got nothing yesterday. Very annoyed!! The plan is to shovel it into ISAs over the next 3 years, but there is a little bit of me thinking/hoping I will win at some point. I shall follow this thread avidly to remind me that it won't be the case!!!!
When you say last month, due you mean October? Any bonds bought in November would not have been eligible for the December draw.
I meant to pop back on and update actually. We got £200 (2x£100). Or at least he did. I'm hoping for something myself tomorrow....

    Full Holding £50k

    Jan - £250
    Feb - £200
    March - £550
    April - £150
    May - £25
    June - £75
    July - £75
    August - £300
    September - £125
    October - £50
    November - £400 ( 4 * £100 )
    December - £525

    YTD - £2,725

    Yield for 2024 5.45%
Did you by in Dec 2023? Or have they accumulated over time? I think I'm just going to shove all mine into S&S ISAs over the next three years rather than hope I hit a winner.
