    FH and £100 this month.
    Better than nowt...!
  • My husband and I chucked £100k into premium bonds last month and got nothing yesterday. Very annoyed!! The plan is to shovel it into ISAs over the next 3 years, but there is a little bit of me thinking/hoping I will win at some point. I shall follow this thread avidly to remind me that it won't be the case!!!!
  • End of year results for my FH 2024.

    Total £3150 = 6.3%. Happy with that.

Yes, 10k worth. 1 x £50 prize in the last 4 years?! :o  I'm going to cash in at the end of March 2025 and put it into an ISA where I actually get a return :/:/
With a £10K holding and the new post-January (worse) odds, you should be winning a prize one month out of three on average.
I think I understand how probability works, but I’m still surprised how variable outcome is. I had one win in 8 months on c £20k and OH had one win in 5 months on full holding. I’m being selective in the periods I’m looking at, but it’s these fallow months that are driving us having a 2% return over the year.

A whole calendar month has to pass between the time you purchase and the time they enter their first draw. So if you buy bonds on 15th October they will not be entered into the November draw, but December’s and then each month after.

Best time to buy bonds is on last day of the month as then you have the least amount of time to wait ( 1 month) before their first draw.

You have to hold your bonds for a full calendar month before they go into the draw so you would have needed to have bought in October to be in the December draw.

As previously mentioned, bonds purchased in November won’t be eligible until the draw on 2nd January. Log in to your account on the NS&I website and check the bond record. This will tell you when your bond numbers will be entered in the draw.

Well, I haven't, so I'm cashing out! Went into NS&I hit cashout and there was an error on their end which has resulted in me being locked out of my NS&I account online. The App still works fine :/:o After calling NS&I, I am now waiting for an activation code in the post so that I can get into my account online! Surprise, surprise.... :s:/
Well done to all that got a win xxxx Premium Bonds are clearly not for me and with a single £50 win on a 10K holding for 4 years, I'm done with PB :* I'll take 5% interest from the bank and / or drip feed into regular savers or use to top my Isa next year.
