  • Nearing the end of another DFW day.....

Got DD on board, she was whinging about wanting a new book so made her dig out some she didn't want and we went to local used book shop and she "cashed" in those books for some "new" books - total cost was 50p from me to round the total off and a very happy DD
Had to fill up as we were on red, but petrol was £1.08  so on principal only put £20 in and will go the cheapest one instead when I am passing.

So my non budgeted spends so far this week is £39.01 which is a massive improvement on recent weeks.

  • Managed to have a NSD today :j :j :j

Packed my lunch up, thought it was going to go a bit Pete Tong when I couldn't get back to the office at lunch and boss suggested we eat out, but he paid so NSD and nice meal :D

We've both been paid now so have just spent an age paying out what needs paying and writing cheques. Have also had to sponsor loads of friends for various races, feel really bad because our other friends have sponsored loads and then my measley amount appears but I have accounted for it and have managed to budget this month to leave us £180 to survive on after food etc. Have advised DH however that this is a very tight month as we have a lot to pay out and we are going to try and stick to spending as little as possible.

The main problem is that he works away a lot and eats out etc and can't claim it all back. When he's away he's out of my control

So have paraded my signature below, feeling quite pleased though as it is coming down. We now have to anxiously wait to see if DH gets a bonus next month and hope there are no unexpected costs this month.............

hello!!!!!! drunk!!!!! you're fab!!!!! and i'm smiley!!!! wooooo to the NSD!!! and don't worry about the sponsorship. you do what you can and that is all you can do, sponsorship isn't about feeling obliged. it's giving what you can and you should feel proud that you find it within you to give something at all. good for you!
WOOOO to the sig!!!! 4 grand in 3 months!!!! you're a star and don't you forget it (and the same would be said even sans vino!)

  • Not much to report but my resolution was to keep posting so here I am :D

Yesterday took the kids out with some friends and although I took food with us, they insisted on going into a cafe for drinks etc, couldn't refuse the kids so ended up spending money  I wish I had the balls to say "I'm skint, I can't afford it!" that really is my problem!

Looked back over the last week though and our total spends for the week are £60 - which includes clothes alterations, lunch out and shopping so no huge waste :j :j

Have ordered extra bread and milk this week so we have no excuse to go to the shops mid week. DH honestly believes we can get by on £10 this week, bless him he didn't even have a beer after football this weekend :D

So the plan for next week is to spend as little as humanly possible, we have loads of food in, nothing planned and both feel positive. We sat down tonight and wrote a list of what we have to pay out over the next 3 months and how we will not be able to do this unless we buckle down to the challenge. Doing it together seems to make it easier - long may it last.

Nice new blank page for spending diary for tomorrow.................

Boring I know, but still being good :D

Begrudgingly spent £10 in the Chemist last night  but couldn't listen to the kids coughing any longer

Dh is away a bit this week but he has found some euros he forgot he had so he is going to use those and then can claim any spends back, so no dipping into the current account :T

Lunch packed again, this makes 7 days now that I have made sure I don't need to buy anything. Need to go and post something special delivery shortly but needs must and all that.

Am also looking on ebay at the moment for a dress. I am due to go to two weddings and thought I would see if I could find something on there, one of them is gorgeous and only on for £2.20 so far. Even a month ago I would have gone to the shops to look for a dress so I am really trying.............
