omg you'll never believe it but there are houses to rent 2 doors down from my sister, in the next road and two roads away. it would be so cool if i could move over there and be that close to her. i know we'd drive each other mad sometimes but that's life! dh goes to see boss next week to talk about opportunites over there. does anyone on this thread live in the states?

just had a call from my friend who's husband has fallen and thinks he's broken his wrist. keeping my fingers crossed he's ok.

tomorrow i'm going to help my friend sort out all her husband's clothes. i didn't think she'd do it this quickly but she feels ready and i guess there's no rules as to when you do different things. i really feel for her at the moment - think she's just starting to believe that he really has died. anyway, i'm going round with a box of tissues, a box of choccies and a bottle of wine. we're going to be ladies whom drink in the afternoon!! hee hee!

Fantastic news about the houses for rent, seems like fate might be intervening :)

Keeping fingers crossed here that there are no more broken wrists.

The wine, tissues and chocs sound like a great plan for your friend. I haven't done anything yet, felt like I couldn't even consider it until the inquest was over and now it feels to raw again to think about yet. Like you say everyone reacts differently.

Michelle when W was born I went in at 3.30am, he was born at 6.16am and I was home for lunch! :D I didn't want to stay if I could help it and they have (presume it is still the same) a 6 hour rule. If everything is ok with mum and baby you can go 6 hours after delivery. A thought it was fantastic, she went to pre school from Nanan's in the morning, was collected by Daddy at 11.30 and came to pick me and W up straight from there.

You might be able to tell HOW excited A was to meet her new lil bro, Daddy was pretty pleased too!

Why is nothing simple  I just phoned the council benefits office over my housing benefit which I applied for on the 10th through the jobcenter along with all the other things I'm entitled to now and just been told they didn't get my application until the 15th and that they will need me to take in proof of my benefits to prove I'm entitled to it! I said "well what about the free school meals etc that I'm supposed to be getting for my daughter?" She said the best thing to do is go in and see the school and ask them to ring the council who can then confirm that I have a pending benefits claim and then DD should be able to get the meals  SOD THAT, DD can have packed lunches until half-term as I have this sneaking suspicion that they're going to turn around and say "Oh new tenancy agreement? Then you have to make a fresh claim" which (according to the website) they will give me a "10 day promise" to process  I'd rather pay out a little bit extra for some packed lunch bits for DD than mess around.:mad:

    Lovely photo.

i guess i am just assuming it will all go wrong like last time. I had a 27 hour labour with charlie, then within hours of him being born they told me i had group b strep and put both of us on IV antibiotics for 3 days, then they discharged us on day 3 when my milk was just starting to kick in and we had a horrendous day with him wanting to feed all day but nothing coming out, and we did a quick last feed while DH loaded the car up, i was fully dressed, DS was, then the midwife decided DS was jaundiced, and could we stay while they did a quick test. Only no-one was trained to do the quick test, so he went back to SCBU for a blood test, then we had to sit around fully dressed for about 5 hours for them to then tell me we couldn't go home. We were then another 4 days of UV treatment and regular blood tests, and weren't fully discharged from the hospital till the January when all the test results came back (DS born October)

so, i am fully expecting a pantomime again. Already started as they won't test me to see if i have GBS again, so i ordered a private testing kit online yesterday.

I really hope i can experience it the way you did this time. That would be a dream. And so much better for everyone to be back at home resting up.

First baby, no idea how i was going to be after:rotfl: In the end stayed about 3 or 4 days i think, complications with birth and all LO's problems etc

cha97michelle - don't fret too much. DS1 was tedious, high intervention, weeks in hospital, blah, blah, blah. DS2 I had at home, and the lovely, kind and helpful midwifes had left us in peace an hour afterwards. DS1 was in the next room, he hear DS2's first cries over the baby monitor and said 'wah wah baby' - he was only 16 months old, I was so proud of him!
AnWs mum - that is a lovely photo.

Bit of ironing, then a HHC. 3.30-4 anyone?

I'll join you hex - I've got an hour before the kids need to have their tea because of swimming. So a HHC will fit in nicely.

Johanne Next time you see your consulatant, explain that you are very worried about going over your due date as you won't have any support when OH starts his new job. And he won't get time off etc. Usually they are understanding and will induce you closer to your due date if needed. My friend was induced on her due date under similar circumstances. Her OH had to fly out to Las Vegas the folowing week to sort out his Dads 'estate' when he died.

Johanne that looks a good price for the moses basket. I am tempted myself. Mine is one i borrowed off my sister, and it has the most horrendous white border anglais (sp?) cover and canopy, and i would love to buy just some new covers for it as they would look a bit more 'manly'.

Michelle, I think that sounds lovely. The brodery anglais (sp?), I mean. Thats what I had for DD.

    Johanne - excellent price.
