Just been to collect a carrierbag of clothing from a freecycler for DD (free clothes in the size she's sort of in and local I wasn't going to pass that up! )
I expected an Asda bag, but no it was a large sports world one:D :money: In the whole bag there are just 3 things that she she can't wear due to the size, a couple of pink girly skirts which will hopefully last her the summer, lots of other things that easily fit and a new coat thats too big ATM but will probably fit her by the winter :j I'm well chuffed and DD is bouncing! She doesn't need any more clothing though :rotfl::rotfl:
Right, off to make our lunch, although I forgot to get bread out the freezer so it looks like wraps for lunch or jacket spuds:wave:
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I rehomed a binbag of stuff on freecycle a week or so ago Nicki.. I hope my taker was as pleased as your 2 are!
Best go dress a pink thing and make a start.. I need to find the curtain pole as well.. that's being collected at 3pm.. WOOHOO!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
My first lot of freecycle stuff has been collected, well half, they are coming back in a bit. I'm well chuffed. Put on 2 wardrobes, chest of drawers, toy box, bedside cabinet as 1 lot and bunk/single beds as another and they were 'gotten rid of' within 10 minutes, wardrobes etc collected within 12 hours and the beds tomorrow. I think I could get a lot of use out of freecycle.
The wall goes up tomorrow in the girls room, I will take photos before and after, I'm soo excited- I know I've said it before, but I can't help it. I will take pic of our room as well as it is full of their stuff too, so is the cupboard but it will be worth it in the end. Should have taken a photo of it last weekend!!!! OMG!
Anyway, 'hangs head in shame' - I've put on 2lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so ashamed! But well done Mudbath you are steaming ahead.
Not much cleaning will be done in the next couple of days, all done the other day so not feeling too guilty, but can't clean and de-clutter and paint put wardrobes and beds together so something has to give.
I will try really hard this week with the food, but will be having takeaway tonight as I'm not going to finish upstairs till I don't know when.
Catch up later, ((((((hugs)))))) to all who need them, Tracey - go to the doctors and explain how you feel, if they do blood tests for diabeties, anemia and thyroid and you are clear at least you will know. Once I had had my tests done, I felt lots better, where it was phycalogical or not I don't know, but I am def having more sleep which is helping. THis may sound strange but I changed my pillow, got one of those memory ones, and now I'm having problems waking up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Really must go.Need to sort my life out! :T0 -
Hello all. Late reply today as i overslept a bit as was exhausted! Didnt get any flying done yesterday though only a quick tidy.
Update on my InLaws: Not long after i posted OH got back from hospital with update on FIL, seems they have discovered the problem with his bowel. Apparently they would usually treat it with surgery, but FIL had horrifically major surgery 5 years ago (died and resussed 12 times during/after and then spent a year in ICU!) which has left him with major scar tissue and only a 10% chance of survival should they open him up again! So they dont want to do surgery unless there is literally no other option. So FIL has to stay in while they get another specialists opinion and also try and wean him back onto solids but hes gonna be on just liquids for few more days at least so were looking at at least a week or two more of him being in hospital. MIL managed to pick up a cup yesterday with her newly plated and plastered arm.. which is good progress. Were waiting on the assessment team to evaluate her and the house to see what kind of care shes gonna need when she can eventually come out.
Update on hospital bag/ baby preparation: Started getting bag ready yesterday! Not completely packed but its started and think i have all the basics. We covered it in antenatal class last night and apparently very few girls wear dressing gown now in hospital so i might take a zip up hoodie instead as i'll be in jogging bottoms anyway. One less thing to buy
OH brought round some baby clothes he bought.. so they need washing too. And i need to put my john lewis order in for the bouncer chair and few other little bits... but my mum and dad are paying for them as they have been saving a "baby fund" for us since they found out about baby and i shouted at mum for buying too much baby "stuff" like newborn clothes/toiletries etc.. told her money towards bigger things would be more useful if she reeaally wanted to helpFelt guilty saying it but it was true as out of this fund i bought the moses basket yesterday!
Id thought they were mighty expensive for what they are and had not been able to find any reasonably priced ones second hand locally..so yday morning i was gonna order a £30 one from john lewis and a £16.99 stand from babiesrus so £46.99.. when at last min i thought i'll just check ebay ONE last time and found this CLICK HERE so i snapped one of them up instead saving £22.04! Which will pay for the bouncer chair and changing mat!
ANYWAY back to the flyladying..... need to catch up quite a bit now and as im feeling too lazy to go out today i suppose i better attempt to do something in the house off the list!...... :rotfl:

I'm going to type first and go back and read after
Beautiful day here, warm and sunny. One load of washing done, dried and put away already!
Cleaned the bathroom and toilet and vacuumed through downstairs.
Then I did about an hour in the garden. I cut the grass a couple of days ago, but now I've tidied the borders (not much to dig because they are full of plants but I've loosened the soil in between a bit to let some air in) and I've done all the edges round the grass and along the path properly. Lots of sweeping up after. It looks better, although the grass is still patchy where the dog wees. I don't care, I'd rather have my dog than a perfect lawn.
I took a dead plant out of a pot and fiddled the earth in all the other pots to loosen it up and make it look better. I shall have to decide on a new plant for the (fairly big) pot. Any suggestions? Moved the pots with the dying back bulbs to a corner where they can sit and think for the summer.0 -
Afternoon.
Well I've done DS3 room - he was a real help. We have been through all his books and it was lovely to hear him being able to read some of the ones that in the past I've needed to read to him. He has sorted out a pile he nolonger wants so more NCT stuff.
From sorting through all the kids stuff, reading books, playing games this mornings quote of the day is so true:
"Happiness is found in doing. Not merely in possessing."
My kids have loads of stuff they don't use just beause they have forgotten about it, are watching tv or need me to help in some way, this holiday has really helped to rectify some of this.
Just need to do a couple of windows upstairs and get out one of the magic sponges to remove a few scuffs marks from upstairs. Then my friend should be here so no more flying I expect.
DS3 just had a cooked lunch because he is used to school lunches and not keen on sandwiches - he ate the lot.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I am feeling bored now. My delivery was meant to be here by 10:30 am and still no sign of it. I was happy enough while i watched the replay of the no 1 ladies detective agency, but now i am getting the itchiness to hoover, which i can't do till they have been because i will not hear the door. I hate waiting with a passion. I am so impatient.
not done a lot of the list so far, but hopefully will make a start soon. That is probably the best way to make them arrive.
Johanne that looks a good price for the moses basket. I am tempted myself. Mine is one i borrowed off my sister, and it has the most horrendous white border anglais (sp?) cover and canopy, and i would love to buy just some new covers for it as they would look a bit more 'manly'. Saying that, i can't really justify buying another one when they are in them such a short bit of time. Are you getting excited now? 6 weeks for me, and i know i am. I must start doing the bag too. I had it done by this stage last time. I will be doing a dressing gown. I found hospital too hot in the day, and freezing during the night last time, and it was good to put over me as an extra cover, and gave me extra shielding while breastfeeding. I just hope i am not in a week again, i think it would really upset DS not having me around. He's so clingy at the minute to start with.
Lunch eaten, including yet more chocolate. Best burn some of it off i think.

Joanne, most hospitals try to encourange you to get dressed during the day if you are fit enough. So take some comfy clothes and tops that have easy access to breast feed if thats what your palnning on.
I did take a dressing gown and slippers as I was still up peeing during the night. And both my babies were in neonatal unit so I had to walk down a coridor during the night.
During the birth most will give you a hospital gown to wear anyway, especially if you are having an epidural. Ask for two, one to wear as a house coat!
Also, at night I wore pijamas. Felt more secure with the pads you have to wear. Plus, to feed in a night gown it has to lift right up! Even those ones that cost a fortune to breast feed in, the are just not comfy. A pijamam top you just undo some buttons.
Good luck I hope it goes well. And if it is your first, you are quite right to buy all the pretty baby stuff. You just stash it away for the second, and never use it as you then realise you have no space! :rotfl:
Michelle, DS1 was 3 when I was in with DS2. I was in a month. DS1 got very upset when visiting and so did I. DH couldn't manage up every day either as the hospital was so far away it was killing us on fuel. DS1 refered to the hospital as 'Mummies House'. When he did visit he played up and wouldn't come near me. Then in the neonatal unit when DS2 came out of intensive care and could be held they tried to stop me giving him to DS1 to hold, under supervision ofcourse. I told them no way, his mum has been gone for weeks and he doesn't know why and I am trying to explain to him that the baby is not responsible so DS1 will hold the baby. You just have to go easy with them but they soon get over it.0
