Mum has been v argumentative the last few months and every time we see her and she has a go about something/everything. She watches all that Jeremy Kyle rubbish and we think it winds her up, but she just rings us up to tell us where we are going wrong with our kids, partners, money, jobs & HOUSEWORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol that reminds me of when I used to look after my niece on Saturdays when she was a toddler. She was generally very well behaved for me but if she had seen Rugrats she was terrible. So as soon as it came on I would switch over to another channel :rotfl: it was amazing the difference that one prog made to her behaviour.

    Morning all

Have read the thread through last night so forgot who said what but hugs and thoughts to hollyh and boddy and well done pigpen and hex!

can't remember when I last posted but have had another bad couple of days. Think I might go and see the doctor about it although I've tired really hard to exercise and eat better this week so could just be all the junk coming out of my system and bit of a come down from all the sugar. Sorry don't want to bring the thread down.

House nice and clean, toys everywhere but that doesn't matter. Off to the gym later as mum is looking after DS for an hour. Could do with doing a huge food shop but not waisting my break in Mr T's!

Better find some cereal for my brekkie.

I only have one hotspot.. I call it .. 'the house'

This made me feel a lot better - thanks. The regularly used rooms are clean and tidy here, it is the storage space that is an issue. I am fairly ruthless about binning stuff but we just have no cupboards. Come back in a few years when I have a big bedroom with an en suite and a walk in wardrobe, a kitchen with cupboards, the children have a bedroom of their own with toy cupboards, we put in a loft access hatch that is big enough to use and the current hotspot has become a 6' wide corridoor so we can build in bookcases/cupboards all along the window side - about 14' long.

Chasing Butterflies - I tell myself I am going to do a short burst but usually end up doing a long stint. I also agree with the flylady thing about an emergency clean doing 15 minutes per room in rotation.

I did a couple of hours on the junk room last night - and have a pile of toys and books to freecycle. A lot of the stuff needs to stay there for now though - we have nowhere to store my kitchen stuff until the kitchen is done, ditto the sink and loo for my en suite are in there.

DS2 is still ill so no nursery which limits me today. Looks like it is going to be a lovely day and I really want to be in the garden. I also have some client work I should be doing. Or I can do some more de-cluttering. Fifteen minutes cleaning the Snug (which is our Living Room, no children allowed - so very tidy) and then I will crack on with an hour in the junk room.

I have 14 eggs to use up - any ideas for something that isn't calorie laden? The hens are presenting 4 a day and I have given some to all of the neighbours already this week.

tracyg - hugs. I feel a lot better for doing the running - less tired oddly enough. I agree re tescos, especially not with two monsters so have a home delivery coming today. There are some codes about for £7 off a £70 spend which covers the delivery charge.

That really mademe laugh this morning Jill!

Hope all is well and that everybody has as much sunshine as I do.

Solway - I am also a control freak in disguise - quite a tall order with 3 boys and OH in the house - there is my way to do things and a wrong way to do things. For me I can really switch off when I am gardening or reading. I'm not trusting enough to switch off completely during a 'treatment'. Have you tried reading any books like don't sweat the small stuff or there is a really good control freak book - I'll try to find the title. Dr Phil is also my idol when it comes to life strategies.

Fi I can completely see why you have made your decision, it seems your mum really can wind people up. Good luck and I hope your nephew enjoys the party for really that is all that matters (or was it neice? sorry sievehead on today).

Need to find my list and get in the shower

    Morning everyone.

DH has been a star and taken DS to nursery for me so i could not rush around as much, and because we are expecting the last piece of the wardrobes to be delivered today. All i had to do in return was make his packed lunch, which was easily coped with. Also got some sausages out the freezer for dinner for an easy tea.

I want to have a productive day today, but at the moment i feel rather tired still. I'm hoping it will come to me later on today again if i chill a bit now. Might do a couple of the schooly type computer bits this morning and then that will be done. I know there is a few hours of work there to do, and today is as good a day as any.

What i want to do today:
    • [STRIKE]clean kitchen sink and draining board[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]clean microwave[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]wash up breakie and lunch things[/STRIKE]
    • WM -[strike] 1 load of my work type light stuff, 1 of my nice top for the theatre, bathroom mats [/strike]
    • worm the cats, and groom again
    • 9LI scheme of work for school
    • get delivery put in the spare room
    • run hoover around the stairs/hallway/living room/dining room/kitchen
    • [strike]order more cat food online and flea treatment[/strike]
    • put out the compost
    • wipe down the kitchen benches
    • wipe the small appliances and the front of the white appliances
    • [strike]deal with post[/strike]
    • pick up DS
    • post off amazon parcel
    • get cat boxes/vaccination certificates/food ready to take cats to cattery tomorrow
    • remind DH to put black bin out
    • put tetra pak recycling in my car to take tomorrow as the bin is near the cattery
    • peel potatoes for dinner tonight
    extras:
    • emptied airers of DH's dry work stuff, all folded ready for him to put away
    • hung up all wet washing
    • put last nights washing up away
    • wrapped W's pressie - need to put in car ready to drop off or give next time i see him
    • found out birthday cards for R, D and P for this weekend. Also found wrapping paper, and now know we still need birthday card for FIL, and pressie for R's party before the weekend
so lots of little bits. Might make a start then by getting that washing machine on for the first time, and then doing some of the online bits. Onwards and upwards.

hope you all have a delightful day.

solway i find a nice bath, or time with DH, or reading a book/doing something crafty relaxing, but then again, a good blast through the cleaning helps me too.

Jill what a lovely list of things you have achieved. I think i forget to think back to what the house was like a few years ago pre-flylady.

hex know precisely what you mean about unsuitable space. It has taken us 4 years to get somewhere near suitable storage space in our house, and even now, we still aren't quite there. And in that time, more stuff gets added doesn't it. At least your communal bits are ok.

tracey -hope you feel a bit stronger and brighter today.
