Why is nothing simple  I just phoned the council benefits office over my housing benefit which I applied for on the 10th through the jobcenter along with all the other things I'm entitled to now and just been told they didn't get my application until the 15th and that they will need me to take in proof of my benefits to prove I'm entitled to it! I said "well what about the free school meals etc that I'm supposed to be getting for my daughter?" She said the best thing to do is go in and see the school and ask them to ring the council who can then confirm that I have a pending benefits claim and then DD should be able to get the meals  SOD THAT, DD can have packed lunches until half-term as I have this sneaking suspicion that they're going to turn around and say "Oh new tenancy agreement? Then you have to make a fresh claim" which (according to the website) they will give me a "10 day promise" to process  I'd rather pay out a little bit extra for some packed lunch bits for DD than mess around.:mad:
Right, Asda shopping list.
SIS... I didnt know youd applied through jobcentre for housing benefit etc.. if id known you were going to id have warned you not to!! They are pooh!! My claims for council tax benefit through jobcentre took 9 weeks to sort both times which meant in the meantime i had to find the money to pay the bill as usual (hence some my debt!) and then i too got the letters stating "you applied but didnt give us proof of your benefits please bring them in to a one stop shop etc" cos the jobcentre dont pass the right info on and as you can see they dont submit the info across with right dates anyway. Whereas Last time i had to claim i told the jobcentre id already applied to the council myself so didnt want to claim through them... then went directly to the council themselves and made the claim direct using the onestopshop/14 day promise.... same info id have to have given once jobcentre had contacted them etc etc .... but It was sorted within the promised 2 weeks..... !!! I was under the impression that was what you'd done sorry!!!
tiamai_d - im under community midwife care (although shouldnt be due to medical problems!) and dont have to go back for another 2 weeks so will be 39+1 by time i next see anyone anyway...... they said last week if they could have they personally would have induced me now because at the time i was onto my 3rd UTI due to an existing kidney condition and really ill... but they knew the hospital wouldnt allow it without trying me on antibiotics first.. so they prescribed me the antibiotics and it "luckily" cleared up! So now im "healthy" again.. i wont be allowed to be induced! I may speak to them though and beg...and plead... and beg some more if i do go over! :rotfl:
Im currently popping the max dose of raspberry leaf tablets... and drinking a cup of the tea everyday! Read on a pregnancy forum even if it doesnt bring on labour it makes the 2nd stage alot faster! So im willing to give it a try!Midwife also talked about"only if you go overdue" (yeah right..) sucking on the husk of a fresh pineapple every 12 hours... so i might start that soon... and the other classic suggestion was lots of sex... again every 12 hours if possible...!! *look away now nicki and mum if your reading this* ... OH seemed quite pleased with that suggestion......but i pointed out he works 60 hours a week at the moment and we live apart so if he wanted me to have sex every 12 hours to get baby out id have to have someone else to help with the "shifts" he couldnt manage being in work!! :rotfl: He wasnt so impressed then! :rotfl: :rotfl:

anw'smum - what a lovely photo.
michelle - i was dreading the birth of my second as i had similar problems to you with dd. we were leaving the ward when someone decided she was fitting. she was rushed away from us...had emergency lumbar punctures...ct scans..you name it she had it. we only new about half of it when they came back with results and said things like 'well now we know she's not brain damaged...etc. 17 days later they let her home on the understanding that she had to be rushed back to children's ward each time she jumped around. she was lightly sedated for four months. then one day we took her to children's ward to be met by a german doctor. he happened to have done a thesis on 'exaggerated response reflex'. basically, when she sleeps she jumps around a lot. dh does it too. that's all that was wrong with her. now she's a stroppy little 8 year old who i wouldn't swap for the world.
i didn't need to worry about ds's birth. he popped out in a few hours and we were home 6 hours after the birth. didn't stop me worrying though. anyway, you can't stay in for ages with this one as we want to see pictures and find out weight, name etc so give me the phone number of the ward and i'll phone and tell them to hurry you along!! xx0 -
nicki - i know how you feel with benefits. i've been given a review date for my incapacity benefit - 26th april. they'll decide if they'll start paying me then. only i'm having the cast off on the 15th and hope to start working on around the 1st may. they drive me insane! xx0

Had each of my kids early. Joe was 11 days early, Sian 14 days and Sam 11 days. I was young then and being pregnant didn't stop me doing all my usual activities.
Unfortunately they arrive when they want to but a really energetic day cleaning followed by an energetic evening, can work wonders! We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -
AnW'sMum - thats a lovely photo. Think I'll enquire further about changing gas/leccy supplier. I got a letter through and they are supposed to be doubling my monthly payments on and estimate
Michelle - have you asked your GP to test you for GBS? I have heard of cases where midwives wont test but GPs will? Have your deliveries been yet? I am now getting severely hacked off now. I bet they turn up at 5.55. I think I'll start on the letter of complaint now.
Viv/Hex - I love the pics. I need to get a mobile that I can actually download pics from lol.
Nicki/Johanne - OK, just when I thought I had you two sussed....do we know your mum or is she a lurker? Its not Olliebeak is it????

sorry skintscotlass. Don't want to be offensive about the broderie anglais stuff. It wouldn't bother me as much with a baby girl, but i hated it for DS. Plus, the cats had a bit of a thing for it too. what with it being dangly and them only being a year old at the time. totally impractical for me.
mudbath sorry to hear about your rough time with DD. It can be really worrying can't it. I was laughing at the thought of you ringing up the hospital and harrassing them. To be honest - the worst bit of the whole thing was when DS was in the UV bed and incubator. The room was boiling, the UV lamp gave me a bad headache and i felt dehydrated, and worst of all, it was right behind the reception desk so i could hear the phone ringing, people stopping for a chat, and the blooming doorbell. You know the song vindaloo - nah nah, nah nah, nah nah nah nah nah nah. It was in my head for weeks afterwards.
surprise surprise we still haven't had a delivery, and i have to go for DS in a minute. How annoying. I bet they come now while i am out. What a PITA.

Hi fellow flyers.
Well all went as well as it could in the circumstances. A strange thing though. The week before DD ex died he had been in my mind all week and I was puzzled till I got the news. Had been thinking of a particular incident that had happened to him New Year 95. Today in the church a diary extract he wrote was read. It was about this incident and about how he had another chance at his life. Daughter got through it ok. I was so proud of eldest GS he managed his duties well. Youngest GS was sat with my daughters best friend.
Im just going to potter rest of today.
Tracyg big hugs
Mudbath Well done on the weight loss. Sounds like fate is taking a hand re housing.
Johanne Hope your mil and fil feel better soon. Congrats on OHs new job.
Vivw and Hex What a difference.
AnWsmum What a lovely photo. Hugs for you too
Hugs for everyone. Will be back flying tomorrow.0
