Posted by kazmeister Following on from the kitchen I decided that while washing all the sofa cushions covers I'd hoover through and mop floors all downstairs (ok get down on my hands and knees with a cloth as I havent found a mop yet that doesnt leave smears). Happily got as far as halfway down the hall and realised that DS (15) was upstairs playing on his laptop, DD (9) was watching a DVD in her room and OH was sat at the computer pi55 @rsing about. I was livid, anyone would think I was the only one who lived here, so I threw a massive wobbly and told DD and DS that they had to do some washing walls and woodwork etc as I was fed up doing it all and working full time, this is supposed to be my holiday. DS refused to help DD get her bowl of water and stardrops so I stormed out in the car and left them all to it. After feasting on a Reeces nutty bar and 2 packs of Reeces cups I decided to go home before I ate more and made myself sick. DD was still cleaning bless her but DS had 'done' his and gone back to his laptop. He was supposed to wash the walls down on the stairs and to be honest DD would have made a better job, so another shouting match with him still refusing to do it again. Mad as hell, little s0d doesnt want to thing i'll pay towards his school trip, he can go out to work with Grandad even more till he can pay for it all. Lazy @rse. And I will make sure my dad works him real hard :rotfl: . I wasnt going to cook him any tea but decided I cant be that cruel, but from now on he can do all his washing as well as his ironing. DD on the other hand has really bucked her ideas up.
I know EXACTLY how you feel. I am having probs with my lazy DS nearly 15. I ask him to do anything and it results in a cheeky remark from him, refusal to do whatever i asked him to do and me getting very  with him. I work with young children, hence how i was easily able to entertain my 4 year old nephew yesterday and still fly, but i struggle with my own son!
I have been having a few choice words with my OH recently too as it doesnt set a good example to DS if OH sits on his a*$e at the weeekend, they both think if they play xbox and stay quiet i wont notice them!!!!!! And like you i am running round the house and they are sat relaxing.
I feel better knowing that i am not the only one with this prob!!! MEN

6 days to go until Hubby goes on holiday. Kids and I are starting to get very excited. Have promised the littlest that she can camp in her sisters room so that we can plaster the holes in her bedroom walls and paint. Shes been very busy sorting through her old toys.
Meanwhile I haven't got much done as I've been left with 2 pages of A4 of things that need doing before he leaves. Mostly involving lying on my back in a pool of oil (not the Ann Summers kind!). Hes driving from here to Morocco, round Morocco and back again by Land Rover for almost a month. The idea of 6000 miles off road with a 5 year old really didn't appeal.
House and garden are strewn with the things hes removed from it as not required (4 seats), things he may need, food and camping gear and lots and lots and lots of spare parts. De-cluttering is not going well. Everytime I generate a bit of space he finds something grease covered to stick in it. Good part is that once he and the Landie leave I have his estate and a trailer for a month so can get all the big stuff thats been lying round the garden taken to the tip. Hell would freeze over before he got round to it.
However on a more positive note have made him sort through his wardrobe under the very very vague guise of helping him pack and have made him part with an awful lot of things that no longer fit him or that I haven't seen him wear in over a decade.
All the bedding now either in the washing machine or on the line. Off to make a start on the bookshelves on the landing. Guess I can reduce their contents by 1/3rd. Everything is stacked 2 books deep and piled on top. May even find enough shelf to dust!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Morning all. big hugs for everyone that needs one & even if you don't need one you getting one from me anyway. this time tommorw i will be at the airport:j. i will be so happy at not having my noisy neighbour waking me up at 5am every moring, he walks round stamping his feet and slaming doors and his flat is underneath me and i can still hear him stamping his feet, i'm sure he is doing it on purpose and then the guy that lives next door in another flat is just as bad. right thats my moaning over with. i have got loads to sort out today plus my ex-sil might be calling in after her scan if she has time. i called my dad the night to tell that i will be arriving on thursday, he said he would get my half sister to pick me up, told him it was o.k as i have booked my own transfer, i booked it so as 'she' wouldn't have to pick me up, i can't stand her, the type of person that looks down her nose at people who don't have a nice car, job or money etc, a stuck up b!tch in other words.
To do list
empty rented garage & hand back keys.
take library books back.
pick up few bits for going away.

pack.
pack DS stuff, check he has all his uniform.
empty fridge.
