  • Morning All

OH is taking my mum back home today. She lives in Cambridge and we are in South Wales so he will be back tomorrow as it is too long a trip to do there and back in one day. It will be strange without her here, she's been here a week.

Haven't got much else planned today. Going to try and whizz through the list today so that I can veg out in front of the tv later and catch up on my programmes

The kids had a "build your own pizza" night last night for being so helpful yesterday. They made their own pizza dough and put all their own toppings on. They loved it. Something so simple but it went down a treat.

On the subject of pocket money just wondering how much people give their children? I am thinking of doing this and don't really know how much.

That must have been a relief. Is there an OU forum for your course? You might find you are not the only ones with missing course material.

    Morning

Finally fell into bed at 130 but downstairs was all sparkly clean (except the middle room and the kids only go in there for the playstation) thats was until OH came home from work this morning!

Limited as to what I can do from todays list as OH will be going to bed. Its raining outside so cant do anything there so might tackle some of the bin or the understairs cupboard as not going to do Nanny ashes until tomorrow as dad got stuck down in London. Might also spent some 'leisure' time doing stuff onthe computer copying my fav recipes from my magazines to make Kaz's cook book :rotfl: . Who knows but at least I have a list to keep me going!

Catch ya all later for a :coffee: maybe
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

    Morning all

Rainy here already. Plan is to get DS3 to my Mum's (he is not in my good books - he broke a frame and cunningly put a sticker over the broken bit so I would not know - like I would not notice a white sticker on a glass frame. I am cross that it was done by throwing cushions and that he did not come and say sorry)

Then to the list, also need to pop to the town:

    OH Isa
    DS2 present ARGOS
    Close bank account
    Pay paper bill
    Post letter

Holly so sorry to hear the sad news, be kind to each other, hugs hun x

Fi27 and Kaz hugs for the teenage years - they are hard work. DS1 agreed a study plan with me at the start of the holidays - 30 minutes revision in the morning before going out/tv etc and then 30 minutes coursework (GCSE's being done a year early here) so not much out of a 14 hour day. This morning he is lounging in front of the tv when he is going out to play golf at 9:00 for the day. I am fuming but have taken him there for the piece and quiet with a piece of my mind to keep him company. Grandma kindly gave them a bag of £2 each (£24 plus a £5 for easter on Sunday) 'I rather they had it now than when I'm gone' very sweet but that is enough to keep him going for the whole of easter!

pigpen - it was optician's day yesterday {runs off and hides for rest of day}:rotfl:

holly - huge hugs to you and your partner. thinking of you xx

johanne - how are you today? hope your mother in laws op went really well yesterday.

michelle - DO NOT MOVE ANY FURNITURE TODAY OR WE WILL ALL SHOUT AT YOU! hope you're feeling ok today xx

lilme - how annoying about the ou material, that happened to me a couple of times whilst i was studying with them.

today i'm going to demolish the living and dining room though they're not that bad so i'm going to go through my wardrobe. i'm going to do it as if we are going away for a year so they'll be no point storing things that 'may' fit me one day. if i don't currently wear it it's being charity shopped.

i'm also going to phone the council to get a date for them to come and do a building certificate for our extension. it was built three years ago. they've been out once and we needed to do a couple of small things. if i get a date dh has to do the jobs :rotfl:

i'm really enjoying sorting the house with a view we might have to pack everything away. it makes me look at everything in a new light and it's amazing what i don't mind getting rid of. very satisfying. have a good day xx

oh nearly forgot, mine do get pocket money and they have to save up for things they want out of that. they also buy sweets on a saturday if that's what they want to spend it on. they get 10p for each year of their age plus 50p so ds (7) gets £1.20 and dd (8) gets £1.30. however, they have a list of jobs they have to do like unload dishwasher, empty bathroom bin, dd has to clean out her guinea pigs, feed the cat and dog etc. if they do all their little jobs they get all their pocket money, if they don't they lose some. the extra 50p is for a tidy bedroom each week. the first week they didn't do much and got about 20p each and since then they've done everything. they really enjoy doing the jobs even though we've been doing this since before christmas. i sometimes feel mean but with dh working away it's nice to get a bit of help from themeven if it's just one small job a day, it adds up. dd often asks if there's anything extra she can do (not for money) so i know she's not just money orientated xx
