  • Evening!
Am chilling out with medicinal white wine and prescribed mini eggs! (Classy or what!) Have finished Hotel Babylon and managed to get some school work done too! Todays major achievement was washing the kitchen venetian blinds in the bath - they were scuzzy - but now all nice and shiny and smelling slightly of star drops!!!
Tomorrow - will rope Gingerkids into stripping beds and sticking washing machine on, then hopefully a trip out somewhere as DH has day off work and I would like him to have a break from decorating! Ikea could be a good bet - the kids (and me to be honest!)love the meatballs and chips!! Other plans are weather dependent!
Need to spend some time sorting out home office - it's become a dumping ground for rubbish, so maybe tomorrow!!

    Evening All.
Trying again to catch up but too tired and need to go to bed.

    What I have done today:
Gutted the kitchen - soo sparkly
Lounge - polished, windowsills, tv(DH did this as it's his baby!)
Girls room - we(me, dd1, dd2) spent about 2 hours in here tidying and getting rid of 'rubbish'. They also gave me a few toys to give away, will take to old creche, and they let me give away the baby changing monstrosity(sp) from their room. This is a major result.
While we were doing the room asked dh to sweep and wash floors in kitchen and lounge but unfortunately he apparantly didn't hear me and was far too busy on his xbox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aarrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhh

Kitchen man came round today and measured for new kitchen. Designed it on his laptop, looks so cool! And is getting back to us with prices - I must be sat down when the quote comes! It is going to be excellent when it is finished, at the moment my kitchen is about 8ft x 13ft but we are knocking the garage into the kitchen so it will be 17½ft x 13ft I'm sooo excited!
Tomorrow my mates dh is coming round to measure up to put the wall in the girls bedroom and HOPEFULLY it will get done on Thursday!!!! Yay

    So list for tomorrow:

Sort ALL of girls clothes out so that I can freecycle wardrobes etc as have 2 complete bedroom sets in the garage at the moment.

Try to get rid of some more toys, they are going out with nanny and grandad, but can only get rid of what they won't notice - iykwim.

Anyway, off to bed now so, (((hugs))) for those who need them and have a good nights sleep.
    nite nite.
Need to sort my life out! :T

Dustykitten - My eldest is 14 and is not as good as the younger ones at helping. I find the only thing that motivates him is cash. I don't just give pocket money, they have to earn it. Trouble is if he doesn't need the money it doesn't have the same effect. He is better at jobs like cutting the grass or washing than car than hoovering say. Has he said why he does not want to help?

I agree totally about the pocket money thing. DS likes to have money but we have never done 'pocket money' as he doesnt help out. He says he hates drying dishes it's boring  welcome to the real world eh? I think i did everything for him when he was younger and he always went to his dads or grandmas at the weekends so got a bit spoilt there. Now he just streches out on the sofa and expects me to carry on doing everything for him. Another part of the problem is certain other relatives (his grandma - not my mum, the other one!) insist on dishing out cash to him. He has come back from grandmas tonight for the second time in 2 weeks with ten pounds  which makes the 'you have to earn money' lesson more difficult as he has plenty cash to keep him topped up! I did speak to grandma about it but she wont hear of it  Aaaarrrrggghhh

He is at home tomorow so i will suggest the childrens list and see how it goes ;) you never know he might surprise me!

Looking forward to tommorows flying list, bedrooms definately needing done :o

    Hi all

I've got very little done today.

I went to the hospital with OH last night and we sat with his Dad for a few hours, we went home about midnight.

At 1.30 OH had a call from his sister to say his Dad had just passed away. We don't live together so he went to the hospital to say his goodbyes without waking me. I woke up to a missed call and a text i feel so bad for sleeping through it. We were expecting it as he's had lung cancer for a year almost and he's only recently gone into hospital. He hasn't done badly for 83. It's just sad.

I also had to do a massive shop with a migrane because we had hardly any food due to my absess last week:rolleyes: . I drove there and back which is 20min each way, filled up a trolley and was home in a hour. It was that bad i even let the kids pursuade me into spending £4 on Potnoodles:eek:   . I parked the car and ran in the house to throw up leaving the shopping Ds1 Ds2 and my stepdaughter in the car.:o ( they are 11, 2 and 14 so mostly able to get themselves out;) ) Then Ds2 and DSd got all the shopping out of the car, unpacked it all and gave Ds2 some lunch:j . An hour and 2 nurofen plus later i was ok:rolleyes:

So all in all not a great day.

I'm off to catch up with the thread now.
