is baby on it's way then? did she sort her bag out?

No idea :o She's run off her feet ATM with lots of things on so I tend to just speak to her by text and get more detailed info from our mum. Not heard anything today but I know she was going to be really busy so I've left her too it. ;)

Tea eaten - jacket pots with cheese for DD and prawn mayo for me (using up the last of the prawns in the fridge), breaded chicken portion and salad. So at least we've had something veg wise today :o:rotfl: DD now on the phone to Ex so I'm going to finish the washing up and then get her off to bed. Might do some ironing tonight :o

hex - i love the before and after pics. well done. new zealand would be my first choice but if we go to the usa i know i'll come home again because it's not my favourite place in the world. love it but prefer here.

soappie - i got excited earlier when a car reversed using your driveway...it wasn't red but i jumped up and down anyway. re usa - dh's company has an office 30 mins from my sister and he's always wanted to go. with certain issues at school and stuff i've just got to thinking why not. this would be the best year before dd reaches year 6. just worried that differences in teaching would mean she'd struggle when she got back though the experience would make up for it. might not happen if there isn't a job but at least i've not said no!

spent five hours sorting dd and ds's room they were fab as they had to lift things for me. emptied a storage unit with 10 boxes in dd's room and a unit with 16 boxes in ds's room. the units are going in the storage area that's left off our garage so that can all be sorted now. so, i'm not doing the lists this week but i'm going to gut, clear and clean two rooms a day. their rooms look fab. a definitely deserve a dog biscuit or two pigpen!!!

He is nearly 15 so if anyone has any ideas i would be willing to try it out :o I dont tidy his room or put his ironing away, he does that himself so he's not all bad but he wont dry a dish or take the rubbish out etc. Am i expecting too much?????????

My eldest is 14 and is not as good as the younger ones at helping. I find the only thing that motivates him is cash. I don't just give pocket money, they have to earn it. Trouble is if he doesn't need the money it doesn't have the same effect. He is better at jobs like cutting the grass or washing than car than hoovering say. Has he said why he does not want to help?

    Hex - great job
Mudbath - very brave going to the I USA, my hubbies company have an office there too and he'd love to go but with one started GCSE's it would not be a great idea so like you say now is a good time for you.

Swimming done, tea done. DS3 is sewing, he loves sewing.

Going to hoover the stairs and landing as DS2 is ok now and then start bedtimes I think.

Wot a day - hope you all having better ones

Vanilla. Hope you feeling better today and your flu has gone.So sad for poor chap and his family. It really makes you think when its so close to home.

Hex - If I send you a before pic will you come and do my spare room :rotfl:

Fi27 - well done, I dont know how you managed with a 4 year to entertain

Lubylou - your DD sounds a gem, can I do a swop, mine wouldnt do anything until I threw a hissy.

Ok so what have I done today.

Following on from the kitchen I decided that while washing all the sofa cushions covers I'd hoover through and mop floors all downstairs (ok get down on my hands and knees with a cloth as I havent found a mop yet that doesnt leave smears). Happily got as far as halfway down the hall and realised that DS (15) was upstairs playing on his laptop, DD (9) was watching a DVD in her room and OH was sat at the computer pi55 @rsing about. I was livid, anyone would think I was the only one who lived here, so I threw a massive wobbly and told DD and DS that they had to do some washing walls and woodwork etc as I was fed up doing it all and working full time, this is supposed to be my holiday. DS refused to help DD get her bowl of water and stardrops so I stormed out in the car and left them all to it. After feasting on a Reeces nutty bar and 2 packs of Reeces cups I decided to go home before I ate more and made myself sick. DD was still cleaning bless her but DS had 'done' his and gone back to his laptop. He was supposed to wash the walls down on the stairs and to be honest DD would have made a better job, so another shouting match with him still refusing to do it again. Mad as hell, little s0d doesnt want to thing i'll pay towards his school trip, he can go out to work with Grandad even more till he can pay for it all. Lazy @rse. And I will make sure my dad works him real hard :rotfl: . I wasnt going to cook him any tea but decided I cant be that cruel, but from now on he can do all his washing as well as his ironing. DD on the other hand has really bucked her ideas up.

List update ok will need to do that in a min as need to copy it first

dusty - lets see if i'm so brave if it comes off. it's easy now as it might not, lol. at least if we do go i'll still have this thread to keep me sane. i'll be posting constantly, lol.

i was going to start the living room / kitchen tonight but my right wrist (my good one) has gone into spasm. think i've strained it as that's all i'm using. it'll be fine tomorrow or else!

just trying to dry my cast out as it got wet whilst trying to wash gloss paint off my hand. don't think i've done too much damage though it's probably going to be a bit wiffy!

kazmeister - day's like that drive me mad. i wanted to drive off last week but can't drive at the moment and it was freezing cold so i didn't want to walk off, lol. went and stroped upstairs though it wasn't the same. hugs to you xx

Evening all! Done loads today, despite working late! I’ve got to have a shower and tidy up the kitchen, but dinner was cooked yesterday, co just need to cook some rice and heat it up. My cats seem to be malting at the moment worse then ever and I can’t keep up with cleaning their hair. Laminate floors really show it up!

    Level One
remove clutter from floors, chairs and fireplace
    Level Two
Vacuum floors and sofas Well swept the floor anyway - laminate
Sort that under stair cupboard.. make sure evrything is in tidily rather than thrown from a great distance! Was very neat as bf did it at the weekend – put my shoes away and threw away a plastic bag
    Dust those flat fluffy surfaces
    Level Three
Vacuum under the furniture you can move – did it on Friday, couldn’t be bothered
Cleanwindows, pictures, mirrors etc. – No mirrors and too dark to do windows
Clear a hotspot – surprising free of clutter – I’m doing well
Vacuum hall and stairs – live in a flat Hehe
    Extras
    • Wipe woodwork in the hall and stairs
    • Wipe front door.. inside and out! – had never done the door before – it was rank!

madcatgirl - i know what you mean about the cat hairs on laminate. then again, it makes you wonder where they used to go with carpet. i was forever picking hairs that were half buried in the carpet. we love them really (i think).
