Mudbath - when we moved out of our old house (rented from family) to buy the flat the carpets all had to be replaced. They were coated in cat hair. You couldn't see it, but it was there! At least it's easier to see/c with laminate!

I don't know where the last couple of hours have gone - well I do actually, I've been flying and cooking. List is as below - not much done but at least something is. I've also got a ham roasting in the oven for sandwiches, along with some homemade wedges.

I've prepared my recipe for the Show Jamie How threadand - just need to finish it off and pop it in the oven about 20 minutes before the wedges are ready.

I currently have some chicken bits defrosting in the microwave ready for me to prepare a slow cooker meal in a minute to go on tomorrow so it's ready when the community meeting finishes. I have also fielded two telephone calls, put the BM on, put the WM on, emptied the DW and started to refill as well as done all the hand washing up. I'm almost pooped!

Right, microwave is pinging to say the chicken's defrosted. Off to brown it and make a slow cooker meal out of it.

    Hi all :hello:

Hope no one minds me joining in. I have seen this thread many times now and tbh thought how the heck do they do it all. I am usually organised but not organised enough and at this moment i need to be. I am getting fed up of constant de cluttering and tbh i am a need to do it now make a huge list and then feel let down when i don't get it all done iyswim? I need motivation lol.:o

The reason Ineed to join and a little bit about me.

My name is Sara, i have 4 children and work 20 hours a week. My partner now works away(hence the need to be better organised). So as you can see my life is pretty hectic (she says sat at pc whilst looking at ironing pile):o .

I also have the weekend to get my partners things washed ironed and packed ready to go away again. So the weekly washing i must get organised i just cannot seem to get motivated enough to actually finish all the jobs.:embarasse

welcome chunky, i'm in the same position as you as my hubby works away monday to friday. saying that, i've had him at home for the last three weeks which has, on the whole, been nice. worth breaking my wrist for (not). this thread has definitely made me better organised though pigpen might argue with me on that one. more to the point it has kept me sane (just) xx

I am a failed flyer today, but hey, perhaps tomorrow. On the upside, I think I've achieved a few things from my own list and a couple of others perhaps, so let's do a recap, and then I can go and catch up on everyone elses day (hope it was less cold ridden than mine).

    Killer Kitchen - Monday
    Level Three
Wipe out the gicky parts of the fridge and have a quick check for what needs restocking.. I have locusts off school!! - Damned fine idea. - I got rid of a whole load of yucky veg, I'll wipe it over tomorrow.
    Extras
    • Clean windows and sills
    Other to do's for tomorrow/week:
    • Plant up our (DD and I's) tomato seedlings. That should cause a whole load of mess and be thoroughly enjoyable with DD !
    • Tackle the paperwork mountain
    • Order SeaWorld tickets
    • [STRIKE]Take zip out of skirt and work out how to insert it (any good websites?)[/STRIKE]
    • Do facing on skirt (again, once I've worked out how to do it!)
    • Overlock and hem skirt
    • Itinerary for hols
    • [STRIKE]Gym tomorrow if cold has abated somewhat[/STRIKE]
    • Find recipe for potato bread (not saying I'm going to get around to making it ... just finding the recipe ought to do, LOL)
    [STRIKE]Mend DD's skirt
Mend DD's sock (or cunningly bin it when she's not looking, along with the other one of the pair!) Thankfully she thinks that wearing mixed up socks is a fashion statement!
    [/STRIKE]
    • Mend DD's PJ bottoms that she caught on a radiator (or use it as an excuse to practice using my overlocker on jersey material, and turn them into PJ shorts ....... )
Mad Tuesday - Living room, Hallway, Stairs

[STRIKE]remove clutter from floors, chairs and fireplace[/STRIKE]

    Clean windows, pictures, mirrors etc.
    Clear a hotspot
    Vacuum hall and stairs
    Extras
    • Wipe woodwork in the hall and stairs
    • Wipe front door.. inside and out!
    Childrens list.
    1. [STRIKE]Sort out all the shoes.. make sure there are 2 of them all and put them nicely on the shelf or in the box. Encourage the person who has the most to get rid of a few pairs they never wear![/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Pick up all your own things from the front room and put them away in their homes
Water any plants in the house.. I always forget so this is my childrens job usually.
    [/STRIKE]
    1. If you are a bigger little person could you vacuum the floors once they are clear of stuff?
Other things I've actually done today:
    • Made pirate hats out of A4 used paper for DD, DH and I (why? Just cos .... :) ).
    • Went to the library and got books on sewing to figure how to insert my zip :j
    • Made something healthy for me for dinner
    • Load of washing and hung out
That is about it, somehow I managed to "waste" a complete day, pootling with DD .... tomorrow may just be a repeat, we'll see :)

Now, it's time for Hotel Babylon, time to figure out how to insert my interfacing thing in my skirt (you can so tell I haven't a clue what I'm doing! But, I'm pretty pleased with my lapped zip insertion, oo er)

Still putting off the paperwork mountain, it needs to be tackled soon, it's scaring me!! But realistically can't totally do it until Thursday/Friday when my salary goes in.

    Hi Sara,

If you feel like there are too many jobs to finish - just pick one. I promise once you have "finished" one job you will feel like you have acheived something and can move on to the next one feeling a bit better... please see my earlier posts today about having no motivation :rotfl:

(hugs) for kaz and anyone else who would like one :D

    wtg hex!!! :T

ok need to write this stuff up so I can hide it from the kids (I promise there is nothing here they haven't played with in 6 months  ) but if they see it, it will be their favourite thing again

    Cheers Mudbath.

I just feel the grind of housework getting me down a bit. I knwo everyone has it to do but for something i used to actually enjoy doing become the bane of my life its quite hard to get my head around.

Well i have decided to try and get me started to go back to the start of the list from Monday to Wednesday and see what is a achievable.

The jobs i would like to try get done by Friday are:-

    Ironing
    Clean & Tidy laundry area
    Clean Leather sofa
    Vacuum all way through House
    Clean kitchen Cupboard fronts.
Dust Picture rails in bedrooms and living room. Will vac them off:p
    Windows throughout
    quick tidy up in garden
clear this awful desk of clutter
do the book keeping and send of expenses
    clean the windows inside

If i manage to get all this done i will be surprised with my toddler swinging from my leg like tarzan and screaming like a banchi everytime i try to get out of the room, the only time i get no hassle is when he is eating fruit salad imagine the size i would need to make to get this lot done and oh!! the Nappies:rotfl:

Although i must admit i am feeling like i could or rather should be doing something especially after my mini confession, as it is only just after 9pm i could get the cupboards fronts done and the wash area cleaned up before bed??? thats a 2 job head start for tomorrow. Now would that be cheating
    :A
Where i struggle is my youngest little man is at home all day and i work early evenings so by the time i get in i am usually shattered! Oh theres an excuse if ever i heard one:o
