    Level Three
[STRIKE]Defrost the freezer if needed!![/STRIKE] Not needed
Wipe over all those small appliances.. don't forget the inside of the microwave!
[STRIKE]Wipe out the gicky parts of the fridge and have a quick check for what needs restocking.. I have locusts off school!! [/STRIKE]
    Extras
    • [STRIKE]Clean oven/hob if you must.. *rolls eyes*[/STRIKE] you must be joking!
    • [STRIKE]HHI ..[/STRIKE] about 10 million
    • Clean windows and sills

    Childrens list.
    1. Clear and wipe the table
    2. [STRIKE]Load the dishwasher (DW) if you have one[/STRIKE] I wish!
    3. Can you fill the washing machine (WM) with things that are all the same colour and switch it on?? This is a very important thing to learn.. many big clever daddies struggle with this job.. even our daddy.. so if you can do this.. you are cleverer than him!
    4. If you are a bigger little person could you wipe over the fronts of the kitchen cupboards and fridge/freezer/washing machine.. sometimes you need to check the insides too as they get a bit sticky..
Mad Tuesday - Living room, Hallway, Stairs
    Level One
remove clutter from floors, chairs and fireplace
    [STRIKE]Don't forget your 5 ebay items[/STRIKE]
    Level Two

    Dust those flat fluffy surfaces
    Level Three
Vacuum under the furniture you can move
    Clean windows, pictures, mirrors etc.

    Vacuum hall and stairs
    Extras
    • Wipe woodwork in the hall and stairs
    • Wipe front door.. inside and out!
    • I think the children who have been most helpful today should decide what you are having for dinner.. and that doesn't mean a takeaway.. we will consider that for the weekend if you are doing a fabulous job!!! Maybe if they are big enough they can help or better still cook for you!!
    Childrens list.
    1. Sort out all the shoes.. make sure there are 2 of them all and put them nicely on the shelf or in the box. Encourage the person who has the most to get rid of a few pairs they never wear!
    2. Oh.. I think you'll like this.. everyone gets a carrier bag.. and spends 5 mintues running all over the house putting rubbish in it.. not other peoples things just rubbish, scrappy papers, junk mail, used envelopes and things like that.. after 5 minutes we weigh all the bags and see who has the heaviest bag. The winner gets a treat (and so does everyone else!)
    3. Pick up all your own things from the front room and put them away in their homes
    4. Water any plants in the house.. I always forget so this is my childrens job usually.

    Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
[STRIKE] Sort 10 things from your wardrobe (or someone elses) that you can get rid of..[/STRIKE]
Clear a hotspot.. or spend 15 minutes clearing one.
    Clean windows in these rooms
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more
    • 39 fling boogie time, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter
    • Clear a box of clutter from the landing
    • Clear the top of a bedside cupboard/chest of drawers or shelf
    • Bake us a cake please mummy!! Or Daddy.. he can bake cakes too! Are we having it with custard or ice cream?
Childrens list.. As it is parents bedroom today I thought you could do a few jobs around the house which would still be very helpful..
    1. Clear and wipe the table
    2. Collect up all the dirty laundry from upstairs and plop it in the laundry basket!.. NO clean things please!!
    3. Can you fill the washing machine (WM) with the sheets from mummys bed?
    4. If you are a bigger little person could you spend 15 minutes tidying or vacuuming on the landing.. whatever needs doing.. I am sure there is a job that you can do that would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure how much I'll get done - I think I need a month off work and without the kids being at home!

Soappie lots of people walking past your house today - I love the way they just vanish
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • (((Hollie)))

I'm up for a HHC at 11 Julie. I need to have a shower and get dressed first. I have actually done a pile of ironing, so I'm not too bad.

    Rant alert!!!!

Mum and Dad (both pensioners) were due to get new central heating installed last Thursday. So Dad has disconnected the DH, WM etc. They were supposed to turn up on Wednesday with all the gear so that they can crack on in the morning. Dad phoned at 4 pm on the Wednesday as no one had turned up. Oh dont worry they said, the guys work til 6 pm. No one turned up. Dad phoned up again on Thurs am and was told someone will phone you back today. He phoned back and 5 pm and the phones rang out. He phoned yesterday (no one there over the Easter weekend) and someone was to phone back, they didnt. He has been on the phone for 2 hours this morning and has just been cut off  Think I might have to walk over there and take over the phone before Dads blood pressure goes through the roof. I'll make a start on the letter of complaint while I'm there. SCOTTISH GAS in case anyone was wondering. (Have to say they fitted my new boiler with no problems)

Julie - raincheck on that HHC ;) Think its going to be mostly an admin day

Johanne - how are you? Is your bag packed?
  • Hi everyone,

    (hugs) for hollyh and family.

How's your new car nsn? (please let my memory be working properly!)

lil-me - I am glad your tutor managed to give you some extra time - a little bit of breathing space at least.

Mudbath - Having to pack for a move is the best thing for focusing your mind on answering "Do we really need this?!" Although I keep on getting post-fling remorse (if there is such a thing!) but it has gone so too late now!

    Well so far I have:

    Dropped kids at school,
Cleaned breakfast mess away and put DW and WM on.

Although recently we got round to finally having a joint account - we could see on the online banking that I had been added, but no cards/chequebook etc. So phoned up yesterday and they cancelled cards as they had been posted on the 12th. DH went to the hospital for an 8.30 appt this morning and the consultant wasn't there. They had posted a letter on the 13th cancelling - we just didn't get it. So I need to sit down and write a list of post we are expecting to make sure it arrives. Regular postie is a star, but I think we need to flag something up but I don't want to get him into trouble....

Also need to shuffle about money for remortgage. Check with CC about problems with cancelling setanta. There is probably a whole bunch of these type of things that need to be chased up so I will do these and pack for the weekend. oh and I need to go through kids wardrobes the big 2 have taken a growth spurt!

Our bedroom is looking so good I am not feeling too guilty about not looking at the list yet. Once WM has finished I will put our bedding in at least and take it from there.

I will not be back until I can cross at least one thing of today's list :o

    Morning everyone.

Holly - Sorry to hear your sad news.

Johanne - hope your MIL's op went Ok.

Right - on with today. Not got a clue what to have for lunch or tea yet so need to have a think about that.

DD1 not quite so enthusiastic about her list today. My 'lets do your list for today' was greeted by a very long 'arrrrghhh'! Oh well, thought it was too good to last. Think she's getting a bit bored as we're a bit too skint to do much this week and anything I can think of to do for free involves the outside and seen as its raining - I don't think so! Also DD2 still not so good so don't want to make her worse. I'm sure I can coax (or bribe) her into helping today. Of to check on todays list. See you all later.x

That must have been a relief. Is there an OU forum for your course? You might find you are not the only ones with missing course material.

I think there is, this time the error was caused by them not changing out 'materials dispatch address' when we moved, oh yes, we want our letters and bills sending here but send all the study material to our old house, bright? Not really. Not the first time we've had problems, last course the materials arrived AFTER the assignments were due in  which mean't we spent the rest of the year chasing our tails to catch up.

luby what about an inside picnic. Throw a blanket on the floor to have lunch on, get the girls to pick their favourite foods from the fridge etc, maybe even bake something that can be cooking while she helps....

Right, moaning aside :rotfl:getting good at that aren't I? I need to get some tidying and cleaning done today after doing not very much yesterday with studying all day. We have the school nurse coming out after school and the place is a tip, living room shouldn't take too long actually, probably looks worse than it is. First job I think will be dragging the bed linen off so I can get that in the washing machine as soon as the uniforms load is finished (I think the boys rolled in their dinners yesterday!) remake it while I am up there after turniing everything over.

Right, emails, post to sort, ebay stuff to sort and pack (because I forgot yesterday) then HHC 11-11.30 if anyone is up to it in which time I plan to

Take the dry laundry upstairs and put it away
    Strip bed
    Vacuum mattress and turn
    Remake bed
Bin the junk on DPs side of the bedroom
    Empty the upstairs bins
    S&S the bathroom
Collect any stray laundry from upstairs
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

Anyone know how to get masking tape off windows:confused: I had them all neatly taped up to paint them about... oooh 9 months ago:rotfl: Anyway, now the tape is possibly a bit mouldy so i thought it was time to remove it, its leaving loads of backing stuff behind:eek:
Anyone know the best way to get it off?

I have some sticky stuff remover that smells of oranges - maybe juice from citrus fruit would work? with a white scouring sponge... I am guessing here....
