Soappie bet you're not having the same as us for dinner - cauliflower cheese with cold lamb. Kids having bacon, waffles and beans. Hubbie pleased as extra portion of CC for the freezer.

You're right, that would have been tooo spooky! I'm actually starving at the moment but don't want to start my dinner until the kids have gone out - I need to be able to eat in a calm atmosphere.

DiL went over to her parents today and DS had a friend in - they've been playing shoot 'em up type games on the PC all afternoon - I'm fed up with hearing "Right, there's going to be a lot less talking and a lot more killing" echoing around the place.

I fed DS and his friend with cheesy pasta about an hour ago as they promised they were going out to another friend's to get v. drunk or something. DiL came home about the same time as I fed them and has showered and is now tinkering with her hair. It seems she's decided to go out with them.

However, she's just come through and moaned big time to DS that he's spilt beer on her hair straighteners. He apologised and then retorted with "well if you didn't leave them on the floor all the time I wouldn't be able to spill beer on them - or stub my toe on them". I've just managed to stave off a full scale argument by suggesting to DiL that a) beer is good for the hair - people pay a fortune for a beer shampoo and b) it doesn't matter if her hair smells of beer, there'll be so much being drunk anyway, the smell won't notice - she could always spray some hairspray on or something.

But, hey ho, as soon as they've gone out I will do myself some dinner. It will involve cold lamb but not cauliflower cheese. I shall do myself a noodle stir fry with it.

So what have I done today?

Soappie are we ORFing this week - my kids keep offering to 'look in your flylady friends street'?

Right time to oik the 2 who are still in the living room up stairs so i can veg in peace.

No more flying here until tomorrow. Looking after a neighbours kids for a couple of hours - not my choice - I don't like kids but find it really difficult to say no. They are the ones I upset last time they were here for telling them off for pulling washing off the line. I had hoped that would do the trick as they could not get out the door quick enough when their mum arrived.

The weather was a little better here today, so I have managed to dig over two thirds of the hedge area. I've cleaned the sink, washed all the teatowels etc, and swept the floor. Enough for a bank holiday.

This afternoon I went into town with DD, and despite being there for well over two hours, we only bought sun cream, a mascara and a pair of flip flops. She tried on loads of dresses, and none of them looked right. Still a few things left to get - insect repellant, shower gel and shampoo. Tomorrow evening there is a meeting about the trip, which I'm looking forward to.

Must go wash up. Then I have to check out the lessons I've planned for tomorrow. I'm not required to plan work, but the regular teacher has been off so long, the classes have run out of worksheets, so I offered to teach them the next unit.

    Evening all,

I am shattered this evening I have managed all my list today, 7 items are now showing on ebay. The playroom is all boxed up - 5 boxes to take with us, 2 for charity, 1 with stuff to ebay and 2 binbags of rubbish, we have room now to store boxes as we fill them.

i have also done 3 hours ironing and still I dont see the bottom of the bundle but at least its just the last couple of days worth of washing.

Tomorrow is a work day so have started early on tuesdays list -
Mad Tuesday - Living room, Hallway,[STRIKE] Stairs[/STRIKE]dont have
    Level One

[STRIKE]remove clutter from floors, chairs and fireplace
    [/STRIKE]
Don't forget your 5 ebay items
    Level Two
    [STRIKE]Vacuum floors and sofas
Sort that under stair cupboard.. make sure evrything is in tidily rather than thrown from a great distance!
    Dust those flat fluffy surfaces
    [/STRIKE]
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Vacuum under the furniture you can move
    [/STRIKE]

    Clean window
    [/STRIKE]Extras
    • [STRIKE]
    • Wipe woodwork in the hall and stairs
    • Wipe front door.. inside and out!
    • [/STRIKE]I think the children who have been most helpful today should decide what you are having for dinner.. and that doesn't mean a takeaway.. we will consider that for the weekend if you are doing a fabulous job!!! Maybe if they are big enough they can help or better still cook for you!! macaroni cheese then as it the favourite.
    Childrens list.
    1. [STRIKE]
    2. Sort out all the shoes.. make sure there are 2 of them all and put them nicely on the shelf or in the box. Encourage the person who has the most to get rid of a few pairs they never wear!
    3. [/STRIKE]
    4. Oh.. I think you'll like this.. everyone gets a carrier bag.. and spends 5 mintues running all over the house putting rubbish in it.. not other peoples things just rubbish, scrappy papers, junk mail, used envelopes and things like that.. after 5 minutes we weigh all the bags and see who has the heaviest bag. The winner gets a treat (and so does everyone else!)
    5. [STRIKE]
    6. Pick up all your own things from the front room and put them away in their homes
    7. [/STRIKE]
    8. Water any plants in the house.. I always forget so this is my childrens job usually.
    9. If you are a bigger little person could you vacuum the floors once they are clear of stuff?

Last check in for the day. Dinner just finished, i do need to still mess around in the kitchen but will be in bed fairly soon i think.

Both of us are shattered, particularly DH who hasn't stopped since this morning.

plan for the rest of the day:
    • [strike]choose curtain pole and some new curtains[/strike] also got blackout linings and some bedding for DS
    • [STRIKE]move our bed and all our other stuff back into our old room so wardrobe guy can fit the wardrobes tomorrow and wednesday[/STRIKE]
    • file the pile of paperwork in front of the telly well put it in a pile, will file it at some point when DS is at nursery as the filing cabinet is in his room at the minute
    • [STRIKE]have more of a living room sort out, as tiscali engineer is coming tomorrow to do the TV package thing so will need access[/STRIKE]
    • sort pantry - as above ish - moved a couple of things out the way
    • [strike]put up curtain pole and curtains in newly decorated room - or newspaper, so we can sleep in there tonight and tomorrow, and probably the next couple of weeks  as it will take that long probably for bed to be put back in there.[/strike]
    • will try and do the kitchen sort out tonight too, and find where my tea towels are as there are 3 dirty, one in use, and the rest are missing  hopefully still in the TD
    extras:
    • picked and ordered a carpet and underlay for DS new bedroom
    • trip to BOOTS - got nappies and wipes for new baby, some wipes for DS, some new toothbrushes and some more olay moisturiser for me. All paid for with points accumulated at xmas
    • paid final BT bill, looked at internet banking, wrote checks for nursery for next few weeks
    • posted rental DVD back
    • most of wardrobes moved up the stairs ready for the fitting tomorrow,

Evening all, just checking in on my list to see why I feel so pooped.

Really pleased with what we've done today, DH been a star, DS not so great and travel cot has had to be set up in dining room for naughty spot as todays fave has been whacking and scratching mummy - nice, little swine will have a shock when he gets slung in it.

Got a biggish list of stuff to do tomorrow but out and about stuff with DS rather than housework. DH will be locked in a board meeting all day and will be fed loads so need to sort out a light tea for us.

Have a good night all! xx

Evening all ... not sure I've actually have achieved anything today, except of course watching Peter Pan and general slobbiness.

Thankfully I did a load of the kitchen yesterday :)

Wipe out the gicky parts of the fridge and have a quick check for what needs restocking.. I have locusts off school!! - Damned fine idea. - I got rid of a whole load of yucky veg, I'll wipe it over tomorrow.
    Extras
    • Clean windows and sills
    • [STRIKE]Go play a game with the children who have helped you today!![/STRIKE] - Did some sewing with her, she sewed a road
    Other to do's for tomorrow/week:
    • Plant up our (DD and I's) tomato seedlings. That should cause a whole load of mess and be thoroughly enjoyable with DD !
    • Tackle the paperwork mountain
    • Order SeaWorld tickets
    • Take zip out of skirt and work out how to insert it (any good websites?)
    • Do facing on skirt (again, once I've worked out how to do it!)
    • Overlock and hem skirt
    • Itinerary for hols
    • Gym tomorrow if cold has abated somewhat
    • Find recipe for potato bread (not saying I'm going to get around to making it ... just finding the recipe ought to do, LOL)
    • Mend DD's skirt
    • Mend DD's sock (or cunningly bin it when she's not looking, along with the other one of the pair!) Thankfully she thinks that wearing mixed up socks is a fashion statement!
    • Mend DD's PJ bottoms that she caught on a radiator (or use it as an excuse to practice using my overlocker on jersey material, and turn them into PJ shorts ....... )
Did nada on my list! I've done a couple of loads of washing and put away the "non ironing", um, cooked dinner .... um, took the zip out of my skirt ... yep, that'd be it then.

So tomorrow, what do we have?
