Thanks Tru for the egg

its a bit wild and wintry here, cant see granny coming for the boys kyle, did all my baking yesterday, hobnobs and gingerbread without the ginger  still it tasted ok with the treacle in it
have hoovered round and tidied up, cant help kyle this week as her dh is on nights and the hoover would be too noisy but anyway children grow up so quick, plenty time for being houseproud when they have flown the nest
Smoky you are doing just fine, lots of love and hugs to you and the children xx
Benthosboy i agree with cranky get yourself a hot water bottle, it will keep your toes nice and toasty warm

Morning all
Hope you're all having a lovely Easter morning.
Hugs to all in need.
DD2 was sleeping walking half the night - she now has a streaming cold and sore throat,
she's only just finished a course of antibiotics for an ear infection , bless her.
Had some good news yesterday in the form of a letter, we challenged the decission on our HB claim as we didn't think the figures were right, they've agreed and owe us a very large backpayment, just since January.....now having a bit of a dilema about what to do with it......it's enough to clear a credit card - but that's 0%, or it's enough to clear the council tax for the year, knowing that DH's money will drop in November by around £500 per month (currently recieving a travel bonus) I think we should clear the council tax so that it's one less "big" outgoing per month....the credit card minimum payment is less than a 6th the council tax monthly bill and whilst we always pay extra I'm thinking the flexibility might be handy in November. Battling with logic here - debt isn't costing us anything but it's still debt - council tax costs us nothing but is a high monthly payment.........
Anyone got any advice?
Anyway - back to OS - Beef about to go in the SC with some veg and wine - will be having a lovely full roast tonight (now my ovens working agian - yayy!), will crack on with my knitting - now I've learnt how to cast on I'm well away.........making a....errmmm....well.....a grey....thing - at the moment. It impressed me anyway.
Hope you all hve a great day - very jealous of those with snow - we've had a hard frost which has now all gone."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Morning all
Smokey - lots of hugs to you and the little ones. My thoughts are with you all.
Hugs to all in need - especially to Martyn's frozen toes (the hot water bottle is a good idea)
Not much planned for today, just pottering around the flat tidying as I go. Hubby will probably go to the pub to meet up with his mates - gives me some peace and quiet.
Have got an easter egg to look forward to, am saving that for my 'me' time later on.
Will check back later to see how everyone is doing

Hello everybody,
wannasavemoney It was me with the hot cross bun recipe. Glad it worked out for you the second time.
Smoky Don't worry about the bits and bobs. They'll take care of themselves. Hugs to you and the children in this difficult time.
MrsMix  I think you should see someone about helping with the chores. Less stressful for you.
I'm knackered tonight.. The last few days I haven't stopped. Looking forward to an easier day tomorrow and I shall treat myself to a good ol surf around MSE while I relax over a cuppa. We went to the Zoo today and I've downloaded some photo's here if your interested.
Hope you all have a happy day. Off to shower and hit the sack. ByeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Morning all - I was just going to warn you bargainrzl that the snow was on its way to you. We have big fat settly flakes so just watch for london transport grinding t a halt once it gets to half an inch thick. Probably won't actually settle for long here as with the airport close by I live in a warm bubble of pollution.
dd22 is here for the weekend - she lives in a shared house and unbeknownst to me has had to call the police half a dozen times in the last few weeks due to problems with neighbours. She had a bath and then started crying as it was the first bath she had had for ages without being worried about what was going to go missing while she was out of her room. The landlord is apparantly aware of the problems but has refused to evict the troublemakers. She cold move back here but it would make for a very long commute. sigh - how old do children have to be before you stop worrying about them - I guess I know the answer to that one.
as dd11 is at her dad's till tomorrow we will be having easter tomorrow so no easter eggs here - actually I have a teeny confession to make - I don't actually like chocolate that much - I mean I'll eat it and stuff but I'd rather have hula hoops - have I said too much - am i banned from this forum.....I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Morning all
Big hugs to Smokey & her littlies.
Hugs to PP & Mrs Mix.
Tru thanks for that, so funny.
So far my 4 day break is passing in a blur & no chance of a lie in at all, Friday we helped friends move, up at 6 out the house by 6:30 & didn't get home til 6. Saturday up at 5 to watch GP then out to watch nephew race, not back til 5ish. Today up at 6 to watch GP & DSS & GF arriving sometime today, no idea when but need to finish off clearing spare room for them. Tomorrow I'm hoping to stay in bed til 8, no doubt I'll be awake from 5, lol.
It snowed here briefly but didn't pitch, still very cold though.
Lunch today is Turkey (bought when reduced after Xmas, cooked sliced & frozen) Gammon & all the trimmimngs.
Have a good one.
Hugs Hester
