OS 23rd March 2008 Easter Sunday

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all,

Smoky, Try not to worry about the house and what the children are eating…just try to concentrate on looking after yourself, giving them lots of love and hugs and getting through the next few days. xx
Churchmouse, thinking of you today. ((hugs))
meanmarie, thanks x

Another early start for me as I got up early to see Ds1 and his friends off to the Dawn Service which is held here every Easter morning on a hill beside a local landmark. I made them hot drinks and bacon sandwiches and packed them off. I really envy their enthusiasm at this time of the morning. _pale_

The Easter Bunny has been and done his stuff. ;)
Both of our boys gave up sweets, fizzy drinks and chocolate for Lent (Ds1 because he wanted to observe Lent and ds2 because he wants to be like his big brother) They’ve both been really strict and have been looking forward to today for weeks...I bet they’ll consume their own body weight in chocolate for breakfast. :EasterBun

We were supposed to be having goose for lunch today but I forgot to order it in time :o so the menu has changed to roast beef, followed by trifle. Dad and step mum are going to take the kids to church this morning so that’ll give me a chance to get tidied up a bit before we go to pick them up. Later this afternoon, we are hoping to go for a walk to the tower where it’s traditional to roll decorated eggs down the hill. Personally I’d rather light the fire and have a lazy day, but I have a feeling the youngest isn’t going to let us get away with that. :D

Wishing you all a very happy Easter Sunday,

Pink.............. :easter:

Morning all and a Happy and Peaceful Easter to everyone.

SMOKY - I have just read the rest of yesterday's thread - you are being far too hard on yourself so please don't worry about what the LOs are eating; just having you there is what's most important at the moment. I'm glad you are finding cleaning so therapeutic - it will help a lot. We are all saying a prayer for you, the LOs and for Eric. We, your virtual friends, are always here with broad shoulders and warm hearts and I know I speak for all of us when I say I wish we could be there to hold your hand right now.

Well, it tried to snow on and off yesterday but didn't settle. DGS and DGD came round for the afternoon - as I've said before, he loves chocolate so was delighted with his Easter egg, she does't like chocolate but was thrilled by the tiny knitted doll I had made and managed to squeeze into one of those papier mache eggs. I bought their Mum and Dad a box of Kinder eggs so they all had great fun playing with the little toys inside them. DS2 and his bride-to-be will be round later and I'm sure they'll enjoy their Kinder eggs too.

    CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:

I intend to have quite a lazy day today, just cooking the roast at lunchtime, knitting and so on. If I feel like it I may finish off my craft room which is actually starting to look quite well-organised. I didn't know I had so much stuff and it was not being used because it was so difficult to find anything without making a mess. Hopefully, now that I have found places for everything, I will be able to make a lot more things. Well, that's the theory anyway!

Well, off to have a shower and wake DH up.

    See you all later.

    Morning all

Just didn't get a chance to post yesterday, was on an early shift and was just so tired. Took DS out to a local pub that has a play area and had a burger for tea. OH went out with his sister for a curry and to the pub after. Went to bed at 8.30. Have been wide awake since 5, oh well.

    HAPPY EASTER ALL.

SMOKEY after my StepSon died I spent a lot of time demolishing my garden, part of that was to create a garden that was just about him and the rest was to stay sane. HUGS to you and your children. You will get through this.

HUGS to anyone else who wants one.

It's freezing here, did have some snow but it's all gone now. I bought a cranberry bush in Woolworths the other day, am desperate to pot it up but I think it might die, so it's sitting in my utility room hardening off.

Have got some college work to do this morning then I guess I should go to bed at some point as I'm working tonight. I'm crawling towards my holiday in two weeks time. Might take DS out for a easter egg hunt if the weather stays dry.

    Have a good day all.

(((smokybabe))) just read the last bit of yesterday's thread. In fact, have a dodgy hug :grouphug:

It's "proper snowing" here. ie it's settling and there is no chance of my little car going anywhere near the road. I was supposed to be helping my mum at a cross-country (horse) event, but as it's 70 miles away I've had to call her and say that there is no chance of me getting on the road anytime soon.

I gave up chocolate, coca-cola and coffee for Lent and so far.... I haven't touched the Easter egg that is waiting for me. :A How long that will last, I don't know. :D

I went to see Equus at the MK theatre yesterday afternoon. To be honest, I went to see it because I'd heard of it. It was superb and if you have a chance to watch it, I really would recommend it. We reckon that the theatre wasn't even half full so my friend and I thought that we should spread out to make it look a little more full. :D Considering it had Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral) in it and Alfie Allen (brother of Lily), people were missing out on seeing two fantastic actors - plus Rosemary King from Emmerdale. :D We had top price tickets but they were a fraction of the price of cheaper tickets in the West End. To keep up the cultural theme, we're going to see "Uncle Vanya" on Friday.

Anyway, DH is watching the grand prix so I'd better catch up on what is happening.

Don't eat too much chocolate folks - save some for me! :rotfl:
