Afternoon folks - happy easter!
I am in my tatty old clothes doing some decorating in the loo, just waiting for the first coat to dry so that I can get on and finish. I hate decorating, I really do, but have mustered up energy to get this done and completed today.
Got a jacket potato in the oven and I'm going to have that with a salad. I'm on my own today, which is lovely and peaceful. I might treat myself to an hour with my book later...

Good Afternoon folks, no eggs here.
Well I woke up for my nocturnal walk to the loo before 5.30 am, went back to bed and miracles of miracles, I went back to sleep,:j :jwoke up at 8.45am, DH went and made me a coffee, advised me it had snowed, so I snuggled down and I read until 9.30am:o
Rang DS as he is 23 today. First time my baby has not been with us for his birthday, but he was here last weekend, and his GF is in Surrey with her parents while uni is out, so would have been hard.
Since then I have been sorting our our next trip to France/Belgium/Holland in the caravan in a fortnight, two weeks of it are with our owners club rally in Holland, and the rest (around 4 weeks total) we are looking at visiting, Ypres, Antwerp, going for a day trip in the car to friends in Germany, and haven't decided on the days free on the way back from Holland, though I am sure it will involve loading the boot with wine:beer:
Friends came down last night, and I made a totally OS Roast Beef Dinner, veg, cooked fresh veg, and Beef done in the SC, the resulting clean plates said it all.
Starter was a Cantaloup Melon reduced to 50p at our local Co-op, and the one none real OS was Merangue nests that I put with the strawberries and cream. My excuse is that I didn't want to start making anything with yokes yesterday;) . Enough left to do a dinner today;) . Had some left over cauliflower cheese for lunch, DH had his favourite - a sandwich! Had a bit of stick from my friend as we have known each other a long time and she loves being at home cooking, craft work etc., and was a absolute god send when I was working as she was my emergency cover for DS, while I loved going to work. But as I said I had the time now.
((((hugs)))) Smokybabe - A chocolate diet sounds like heaven to me. As many have said, don't worry, its not important ATM, but if you would like my appetite I will happily send it you.

 What daft wally would try sleeping in a motor home in near zero temperatures without leaving the heating or or at least leaving their socks on
. I can assure you that mine remain on when spending time in the 'van in the winter, highly attractive I am sure (not) but DH never seems to let them put him off.
(Maybe cos I don't put my cold feet on him then). I am sure that your Dad also said, put your tools away so that you could find them when you needed them again!:D
:grouphug:to everyone else who'd like one :grouphug:and :hello: to everyone else, hussies or not.
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Afternoon guys :j
Hope everyone is having a good easter? don't eat too much choc!!
Well im snuggled up on the sofa in my pjs under my duvet nursing a hangover!! self inflicted I know, so don't expect any sympathy
Took kids to Crealy adventure park yesterday, it was freezin cold, blowing a gale, hailing and even snowed, but we still had a great time! Luckily there are lots to do indoors so didn't need to be outside much. But then we did have to miss out on the big water rides as it was just tooooooo cold to be getting wet! OH managed to knock himself out on the kids play area, trying to jump through a hole that wasn't big enough and banging his head trying to get through it  Think he's learnt his lesson about being a big kid!! He's got a nice lump on his head today :rotfl:Crealy are doing a promo for Cornish residents at mo where you pay £15 and you can go as much as you like for the whole season! normal day price is £11 so for £4 more you can go as many times as you like for free! So we all invested in one, so thats the kids sortd when they are bored and want to go somewhere!
Went out with the girls last night had a really good night, was reallt busy in the nightclub, think people were making the most of their weekends off work. As usual I drunk way too much
and paying for it today
Going to mums for dinner later so no need to worry about sorting that today, so I plan on recovering and relaxing for the rest of the day on the sofa
All for now. hugs to all

Hi again,
I have the most wonderful children - this morning they kept disapearing off, and then 'suddenly' the easter bunny had left me a note!! They had done me a trasure hunt, like the ones i do them at Christmas, so had me running around the house, finally finding an egg they had bought me (ok, i had given my friend some money and asked her to go with DD to get something, and pretend it was nothing to do with me) and also one my friend had bought me - first time ive had an easter egg for i dont know how many years!!!
We have had a lovely lunch of roast duck, and i made enough veg/potatoes for bubble and squeak tomorrow, potatoes for the freezer and loads of gravey, for dinner tomorrow, a stew and also for the freezer, so feeling very pleased with myself. Mind you, the bottle of cava has helped how im feeling!!! We have all eaten too much chocolate as well, never mind, the diet can carry on tomorrow! I had hidden the childrens eggs all over the house, so they had a lovely time finding them all, plus the little ones that i scattered on the floor - i know Easter isnt about chocolate etc, but i so love it when i can do things like this for my 2, we dont have much money, we dont go many places, but our house is full of love, and that is so important, especially at Easter.
We are now watching DVDs, DS will want to watch the football on a bit (hes not happy that Man U just won) and even tho im sure i have loads i should be doing, im happy doing nothing at the moment!!!
I hope everyone is having a lovely day,
Take care

Good afternoon everyone!:)
I haven't read the rest of the thread yet, and haven't posted for a little while due to being unwell, but want to wish you all a HAPPY EASTER!
:easter: :EasterBun :easter_ba :icotbaske :easter_os
((((HUGS)))) to smokybabe, and to all who are in need of some.
We're having a quiet day today, eating too much chocolate and waiting for DD2 and her family to arrive, at which time it will stop being a quiet day!
catowen - yours is the only post I've already read as it was the one before mine. How sweet of your children to do a treasure hunt for you!:A
DD has just phoned to say they're on their way and that she needs to use the computer, so I'd better go and read a bit more of the thread before they get here!
Best wishes

Awww Cat - Well done your 2 for that - I bet they were made up to see you enjoyed it too.
Just been to pick up some "assorted kitchen items" from a freecycler.....3 huge boxes - most of it complete tatt but there was one whole box of fairly new, large lidded boxes (tupperware style) just the right size for freezing down big portions of stew/soup, a whole load of cookie cutters, a youghurt maker that's never been used, some small cool bags - ideal size for sandwhiches (they've gone in the WM) a microwaver steamer - still in its sealed box and a mincer!!!!! (looks like it's been used once) There was a couple of nice glass pots/jars too that will look great on the window sill - everything that can be is in the dishwasher but I'm very :j .
DH has taken control of the cooking as we had a row this morning, he's trying to make amends, I'll let him off once dinner is cooked

Ahh, now i remember - thanks Aussie. They were yummy - notice the past tense here. They barely lasted a day - i blame the rest of the family for their demise:p   Loved the pictures by the way.
Haribo - great pressie from your mil - at least yours gave you one :rotfl:
Tru - great link
Feeling a little down atm. Went to see ggranny and she was in bed and has been for a few days now. She is so old and frail and it is upsetting to see her like that. Last time we saw her, she was full of beans. Hopefully she will rally, but at nearly 96 years old its worrying.
Boys loved their swimming, must try to do it more often, but then there are lots of things I would like to do more often but usually the mundane necessary life bits get in the way.
Catch you all later

Evening All
Had a nice day today, after I posted this morning it snowed and settled & everything was white, drove to my familys in kent/east sussex & there was no snow at all.
Didnt have a traditional lunch - we went to a kebab shop but it was nice.
Now sitting eating chocolate, have just watched the footie which we taped & everyone is happy that Chelsea won so a good end to the day.
Hope you all have a nice evening.0 -
lovely day with dd22 until she said, "mum come and look at the cute ferret thing raiding your compost bin"        it's a bloomin' rat and has been having a lovely afternoon trotting back and forth from the compost pile to the fence at the back behind which it lives. Not sure what I'm going to do but it will surely involve rat poison unless someone can suggest a humaney eco way of dealing with it.
Shamed into action by confessing some of my OS sins on GR's thread I have made some bread, printed off the flylady list and painted two radiators. the radiators look lovely - i hadn't realised how manky they were.
dd22 just left to have a couple of hours with dd18 so i'm going to have a bit of a chill before getting on with some more painting ... there is only so much chat about hair, boots and fashion that I can [STRIKE]endure[/STRIKE] enjoy but both the girls love nothing more and will have a nice evening together.
have a nice rest of the eveningI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Hi again
Home again and rather tired but a lovely day. DS only had 2 hours with his sister, BIL and the boys before I took him to the airport but at least we were all together. DGS2 decided he wanted to come too to see airyplanes so DSIL plumbed in car seat into DH's car. Bless him, he fell asleep 5 minutes down the road, couldn't wake him at the airport and when I got back to DDs he went in a strop because he thought he hadn't been at the airport!
Managed to strim the grass edges before we left this morning and garden beginning to look good again.
Before we left for the airport we all went over the road at DDs and rolled decorated hard boiled eggs. I just love that DD is keeping up the traditions we had when she was a child.
Aussie - had a quick squint at your photos, what a handsome wee Ninny boy. Nanny's boy (DGS2) will be 3 early April. DGS3 very mobile, cut teeth and standing up, all in 2 weeks since I last saw him! Not strange with DH (not seen for 5 weeks) or his Uncle (not seen since Christmas). It was tear jerking to see the grin he gave his grandad when we walked in today.
Please all of you take a hug, give your family cuddles and take care! Enjoy the rest of Easter.

PS - Tru - that bloomin chicken has been emailed linked around the world! What is the wee green thingy above one of my stars - what have I missed?0
