Oh I have a lot to confess! My house appears tidy as we have been having lots of visitors but you can hardly see our bedroom floor because everything we own is in there:rotfl::rotfl:. Aside from the messy room I have mountains of laundry to do  and lots and lots of DIY jobs to finish. I really want a fairy godmother to come and make all the messy stuff go away!

Well, there's one outstanding job I must do, and that's check online for the weekly planning application lists to see if any pubs in our patch are due to close. It's a chore I do for the local CAMRA branch, and report back to the chairman if I find anything.

Other than that, I've moved a lot of the tasks to a future date (don't want to just delete, as they'll have to be done eventually).

I was hoping for a burst of energy today, but I'm afraid it just hasn't happened.
Anyone got any spare energy I can scrounge?:D

    Hello my fellow earthlings,

Oooohh I like this thread, I finally found somewhere I belong ;)

DD & I play a game called "random objects found..." add in the name of the room / location where the ... are !

    Here goes :
random objects found : on dining table - 3 cushions, old cc statement, calculator, piece of toast spread with nutella (still edible i confess :o )

random objects found : in the bathroom - an umbrella, scooby doos mystery machine, 5 little ponies & a coffee cup stain on the window sill :o .

I have a magic airing cupboard ; i put stuff in there intending to iron it, then a week later I need something from the pile & somehow by then I dont feel the need to iron it anymore, great :D

  • LOL at this thread - I'd almost forgotten about it and was starting to get 'OS stress' at not keeping up with the rest of you! Here I can feel totally happy, as I am well 'on the ball' (maybe not such a good thing?!?). Finally I think I have to confess too.....

The towels in the TD have now been washed 4 times - they were left damp in a rucksack in the back of the car after camping 2 weeks ago - got brought out slightly smelly, took 2 washes to get the smell out...then it rained so I didn't hang them out (trying not to use the TD in the 'summer' - ha! - what 'summer'?)....2 days later they smelled again so I washed them again Monday morning...then I went out Mon night and came home to DH telling he'd put the towels on to wash again 'cos i'd left them in the machine!!!!! They finally made it to the TD yesterday morning as it was still raining...and they are still there.

No-one can have a bath or shower, as the bath is full of dirty washing which has overflowed from the laundry basket - I sorted it into colour-loads in the bath, but the WM has been full of towels.... We've been using the shower in the garage instead.

I have 2 fruit bowls. At the moment 1 contains a melon, several screws, a pair of sunglasses and some small Euro coins. The other contains money-off vouchers, several bits of post, a wrinkly apple, more screws, a doorknob, hair scrunchie, broken watch, several batteries (dead?), several corks, a paper cocktail umbrella, a piece of lego and a paperclip.
At various intervals I clear them out and all the screws and other DH 'bits' go in his 'man drawer', my 'bits' usually get binned or moved to the sideboard for eventual transportation upstairs (usually 5 mins before someone is coming to visit), and the kids 'bits' go in their rooms.

As the step-kids only come very fortnight (normally) we use their rooms as 'temporary dumping grounds' when they are not with us. This means that the night before they come we have to clear everything out which we've shoved in there out of the way - usually to our room, which is already full to bursting, or to the loft (much more up there & the floor will prob. give way!).

My 'floordrobe' (OMG I thought I was the only one to use that expression - LOL!) has advanced across the bedroom floor to the extent that there's now only a narrow corridor to get to the bed. I can't put anything away as I can't get to the cupboards (even if there was room in them!). Desprately needs sorting out as I can't wear half the clothes having put on loads of weight since Christmas, and had to buy some bits of new stuff. Yes - I have also been guilty of buying new undies as I couldn't find any clean ones which fit me!

Ironing? That's equivalent to swearing in my house...... My theory is that there's not enough room to store the clothes, so they are going to get creased anyway when they are squashed into the cupboards/warderobes, so what's the point? DH's answer is that I have too many clothes.....surely that can't be right?.....there's no such thing for a woman is there? And I do always buy stuff on sale - I can't remember the last time I paid the full price for any clothes or shoes. OMG - Shoes......

.....I have 5 underbed storage boxes for my shoes, but still have an 'overflow' in a cardboard box and a heap in the bedroom.....

BASICALLY - I NEED A BIGGER HOUSE (and a cleaner!).

  • Ah you see thats where I have been going wrong, if we leave fruit in the fruit bowl, we can't find anything else (cos its full of useful stuff like, screws, etc)

Leave fruit in back of fridge were can't see it going off!

Um my bad habits - the kids been away at their dad's for a month now and all their washing and ironing is in the basket in my room (had visitors so it had to move from the bath)

Had a takeaway last night even tho' house full of reduced grub, fantastic shopping bargains and home made stuff i just couldn't be bothered - lazy or what.

Went to bed with laptop rather than reading the manual I supposed to have read for work......

Surely if you have lots of clothes in your house they act as insulation?????? Think of the energy you are saving from escaping.

And my daughter tells me it is very bad for the environment to iron anything hence the basket still being full, and if you leave them long enough they all squash themselves.

Well, I've got a terrible confession to make about my fruit bowl. For ages I kept my wedding ring in it because it was getting too tight, and I kept it there temporarily meaning to get it stretched. Then, recognising it would be some time before I actually got "Roundtuit" I moved it to a safe place. And now, of course, I can't remember where I put it. I've been hunting for over a year and still can't find it.

Oh dear Primrose guess you're not going to find it now.

Ok I confess I have been a lazy so and so this week (only this week  )

I spent so long on Monday evening trying to make jam that yesterday I couldnt be @rsed to cook a proper tea and then as the kids havent been bothered emptying the dishwasher for about 3 days now, I couldnt be bothered to do it either, nor the washing up last night. I left it hoping that my other half would do it today (which he has :D ).

As there is only me and 9 year old tonight I am not cooking again and we will have to reheat something from the freezer.
Oh, but I did pick up a ball of fluff up off the stairs today :T .

My spare room you still cant get in the door and the corner desk/shelf in there had so much stuff on it, it collapsed and fell off the wall onto the heaps of stuff on the floor. Its been like that for about a month now.

My clothes now sit in 5 trolley bags in my bedroom (they were originally used to hold ironing) these have now become my wardrobe and I only my work stuff just before I have to wear it.

I still havent managed to finish painting the second coat of paint on my dining room (the first went on 6 years ago - seriously :o ) although I did do a second coat halfway round the room earlier this year. The skirting board is white on 2 walls and purple on the other.

My living room had 1 coat of paint on it approx 6 years ago as well and I havent decided when it will get another coat.

My hallway has about 6 patches on it by the door where I tried out various matchpots and then bought the paint which has sat in the shed so long the tins (do they still do TINS) have gone rusty.

Best go do some chicken ding for tea :D
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Ah.. kazmeister the thread-killer.. we should have known...

    Time to resurrect this thread...

I just had to scrape something from the microwave plate.. with a screwdriver... it had been through the DW 3 times.

After a fire in the kitchen the smoke was everywhere I had to clean up before the industrial cleaners could come in and clean.

'oh my there is a lot of smoke damage on top of this unit' .. erm... no that is just dirt!!!

I have a litter tray full of cat poo... if I empty it the cat uses it.. if I leave it full after a few days it smells less and the cat sh1ts outside...

I have 4 tins of quality street/heroes/celebrations wrappers.. on my desk

I have had cat litter on the floor for a week

I haven't seen my bedroom carpet in 4 months.

I have worn the same socks for 4 days..

when I last emptied my vacuum cleaner.. it had a mouse skeleton in it... (thought it smelled odd when I used it!)

My grill burst into flames because it had such a disgusting build up of fat and crumbs in it.. I now have no cooker.. and a whole huge kitchen to repaint!

i have different eggs in my fruit bowl which won't fit in my chicken
