    i took the kids to macdonalds yesterday for lunch even though i had all the makings for lovely sandwich's. I then got chinese for tea because to make any thing would have involved doing the washing up!! My bedroom is awash with a sea of clothes.
    The gerbils are really wiffy but i just keep ignoring them.
    My stairs desperately need sweeping.
    we are going away in the caravan on sat and i have done no organinsing.
    The kids will have to have to have jam butty's for lunch as the stuff we were gonna have yesterday has gone off!
    Oh how i love school holidays NOT.
    Am going to seriously consider getting a job next summer holidays even if it just pays for childcare hahahah.
    I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.

    ha ha ha ha :rotfl:

    That has made me want to come on and update as to what is in my fruit bowl now.

    * Sat nav and charger
    * Mobile charger
    * 2 pairs car keys
    * Earphones
    * Pair of sunglasses
    * Money off coupons
    * AAA batteries
    * Numerous biros (even though there is a pen pot 6 inches away)

    And the real corker, on the kitchen worktop not in the fruit bowl are 2 mangos :rotfl:

    Can I please nominate my OH for being tired too? Still waiting for the pull chord on the kitchen blind which snapped in February to be mended. If it had snapped when the blind was in the fully down position at least I wouldn't have had to worry about seeing the grotty kitchen windows!

    this made me laugh too :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: soo glad the thread got revived. I no longer keep a fruit bowl because it too used to get full of junk, fruit now lives in the bottom of the fridge.

    Yesterday I finally got round to cleaning my middle room which hadnt been done for weeks, (kids use as playstation room etc) and found down the back of the sofa and under the cushion, 1 tomato and several tomato stalks - luckily tomato wasnt squished, the mouldy skins off 2 satsumas and 3 raw runner beans, all remnants of DD's snack times :eek:

    I have now also been converted to one who only irons stuff for work and the whole bag of DD's ironing that was in her room she has now taken and hung up in her wardrobe - does squashing everything in count as a form of ironing?
    Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

    Little tip for anyone newly setting up home with a bloke who expects things to be ironed for him (I blame the mothers): 35 years ago when we got married I deliberately ironed some of his shirts VERY BADLY, my speciality was crumpling the collars with that nice concertina effect. After a couple of those he decided he was fussier than I am and has done all his own ironing ever since (indeed, to a higher standard than mine) and the children's school shirts too (long past now). We are all quite content with this system, and why not? (He doesn't do my stuff, buut than I hardly ever do either !):rotfl:
  • RE the 'shoes on/off discussion - none of our houses seem too bad, and believe me I've seen some BAD ones! When I was at work as a social worker, our criteria for a particularly mucky house was one where you wiped your shoes ON THE WAY OUT!!!

    I've seen them like that too when I was in the ambulance service. I've also seen muck on the walls up to the dado rails thats so bad it looks like wallpaper, some with sofas etc so bad you darent sit down on for fear of what you might catch. So hey we're doing ok just coz we have junk (including car batteries) in the fruit bowl :rotfl:

    just reread this thread as i needed a giggle but too shamed to post my list of returned backed up stuff - lets jsut say i have a list in front of me that at 10am i still havent started!

    Thank you for reminding me of this thread Sammy - it gave me the laugh I needed too.

    I've just looked at my kitchen table and it has on it:

    1 notice board that I've been waiting for dh to put up since I bought it 3 weeks ago
    3 boxes of tiles for the wall that dh has been tiling for the last 6 weeks. There's another bigger wall to tile as well which hasn't even been started yet.
    1 24 multipack of crisps
    1 6 pack of crisps
    1 set of spanners (they're in a roll up thing - sorry hard to explain)
    1 whisky liqueur set (bottle and 4 glasses) which ds bought from a game fair a few days ago
    1 box of jam jars
    1 box of klippits
    1 box file
    a pile of old mail

    I'm sure if I could be bothered to look underneath there's probably a whole nother layer of stuff. Needless to say we eat in front of the telly!

    BUT............my fruitbowl is full of fruit:rotfl:
