i have a basket of ironing that is from when i was pregnant last time, and i didn't do it as it was my stuff that didn't fit me at the time, DS is nearly 18 months now, and as i am heavily pregnant again, that excuse is still working with DH.

MIL came to visit last weekend and spent 2 hours doing my ironing, and only shifted half the pile.

I personally haven't cooked a meal in about 3 weeks until i dusted off the SC yesterday.

We have 3 laundry baskets full of washing and there are only 3 of us - my excuse being that DH is decorating and there is nowhere to put the airers.

We can only just see the TV for the pile of filing that just needs taking upstairs and doing.

At 3 months pregnant, i ended up going to A and E with concussion after falling over one of DS's toys on the laminate floor and banging my head on the door handle.

I have a curtain hanging over the bannister that has been there since the school xmas hols when i washed it and was going to shorten it to hang up in the hall.

DH emptied out the spare room a few weeks ago when we started the decorating ready for the baby, and kept saying - oh, i've found this, and i kept thinking, no you haven't, that is where i shoved it when i was tidying up.

I claim that i can't fit into the back of the pantry to get out anything, and DH believes me.

i was happy to see the snow because it meant i didn't have to clean the bird poop off the car.

DS was ill and didn't play with the toys for days, yet we still left them all out.

DH hoovered throughout the other day so that i wouldn't be embarassed when my friend visited. I am so tired i couldn't have done it even if i wanted to.

the house needs a good gutting before the baby arrives in about 6 weeks, but we'll see how i go. At the moment i have really bad sinuses, and it is taking all my time to be up and about pottering and stopping DS wrecking the house,

Many thanks Gingham for starting this thread! :rotfl:

I once looked at the FlyLady thread but stopped reading when I realised my whole house is a hotspot!

My decorating style is best described as "post burglary"

    What's an iron?

Haribo, hubby made me add that it only last 12 hours not 24, & 15 mins is 3 times, lol.

I'm wondering if more people will join in with the Flylady thread now they've read confessions from some of us, inc the 3 who have hosted the thread at some point last year :rotfl: I have no idea why some people think we have tidy houses because we do the Flylady thread, I know for me I have to do it that way or I get nothing done at all. Noone in my house is naturally tidy, the boys do like things to be 'in order' but that order can be across the bed, floor, sofa etc. I blame the kids on the mess far more than I should, we're all as bad as each other :o

Sorry but I see us as just normal, domestic goddess types worry me, I always wonder what it takes to make people so tidy that they hate something being out of place, I think I'd crack up if things like that bothered my with my lot, I can't understand why people iron things that don't need it, those who enjoy ironing worry me.
One day I might be more organised...........

After reading all this lot I think I'll be able to start posting on the daily again.

I stopped after hiring a cleaner last year when I got a new job entailing much longer hours (and more money luckily). She is brill - she even leave a little point on the loo rolls like in a hotel. However, I still end up running round the house on the day she comes hiding DH's discarded clothes and stripping the beds.

Oh and I'm down to my last bra - the others are all in the washing because since I started buying more expensive ones that actually fit I need to hand wash them and I can't be bothered!

   I've been lurking here for weeks putting you lot on a pedestal & admiring your domestic skills. I've been out & proudly purchased soda crystals & white vinegar, baking tins & a rolling pin. I really wanted to be like you all. I really believed you had gleaming homes & wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen. These confessions are shameful!!!!

I think the flylady way means there is a little bit less dust under the piles of carp.

I could be very anal about keeping the house, and i do loads usually, but DH and DS are definitely very messy people, and when i am not up to doing it myself it doesn't get done as often.

I've also used the car boot to hide piles of stuff before now. ;)

Definately, even my partner who doesn't usually take notice of how clean something is said the other day 'at least if I threw all this stuff off the desk in a box it'd be clean under it' :rotfl:says it all really.

I think for me there is a huge difference between clean and tidy. My house I doubt will ever be tidy to a domestic goddess/show room standard like I see in most of DPs families homes, but it's clean, usually :rotfl:lived in look I think we're going for, you could walk into DPs Grandma's home and struggle to prove someone lived in there apart from the food in the fridge etc. She doesn't even use most parts of the house unless she has special visitors, defnately no children allowed in there apart from one Christmas I remember sitting in there, but she cleans it every day. Madness.

GR tell him it's just not mean't to be

Ok here goes, suppose at least I'm not hosting the Flylady thread at the minute so feel less guilty about not leading by example......I bet I regret this in the morning :o

I just fell over DS1s shoes and left them where they are for me to fall over again
I am pleased it's the school holidays because it means I don't have to dash about, I can stay in my PJs until I want to get dressed
I just shuffled left over popcorn onto the floor off the sofa in the hope the dogs will eat it but then knowing I will vacuum them up at some point tomorrow if a miracle happens and they leave it
Today I threw out a carton of whipping cream 2 months out of date from a fridge I thought I'd checked this week (and every other week)
I just closed the door on the kitchen because it's untidy, same as my bedroom and the conservatory
My bedroom you can access to get in and out of bed, that is all
The wardrobe to help tidy my bedroom which was delivered on Thursday is in boxes in my sitting room
I have put a bag of clean/dry laundry away but there is another waiting (I can ignore things in Ikea bags :o )
I've realised I haven't included a takeaway from this week in my GC budget...bother will sort in a mo
The ledges in the sitting room are decorated with kids bits and pieces, coffee rings, cellotape, hairbrushes, purse, glasses, 6 pens etc (I was supposed to clean them today but didn't)
I've not managed all of the tasks on the FL thread for most of the week
I am VERY behind with my studying and replying here is just another way to avoid it
I am too busy watching Rainman to study
I fed the kids then asked them to play upstairs this morning so I could lay on the bed as I was still tired
I felt guilty about the kids 5 a day this week so filled them with fruit salad after dinner
Noone would DARE open a drawer in the kitchen because they can't, jammed shut I think
I've had the heating on all day because I am cold and sick of having to leave it off to save money
I've used the iron twice since we moved, noone else has used it either, took me half an hour to find it last time. I washed the board cover this week because it's dusty :o
My kitchen window is disgustingly dirty and the cook books on the window sill are a mess
My 'junk baskets' are overflowing because I just dump everything in them
The house looks like a laundrette because my TD is broken (in my defense 2 bed wetters means it's hard to cope without in winter time)
I'm not worried about pairing the huge sock basket up because the kids have way too many socks and they won't fit in the drawer
You have just made me feel so good!!! :j :j :D :j :j
    :D:D:DNever worry 'till you get a worry...:D:D:D

I have 4 'broken' computers in my living room still awaiting my attention.
My laptop which I am using is very dusty.
I haven't put the WM on today even though there are four loads waiting on the kitchen floor.
I have hidden the ironing pile in the bottom of a wardrobe and shut the door on it.
I'm happy sitting here and not doing any of the jobs today :)
Grocery Challenge for April £250:) spent £ 96
One day my ship will come in.......but with my luck I'll be waiting at the airport:p
