oh dear - this is definately the thread for me!

We ordered take away pizza last night, because i couldn't be bothered cooking
There is still washing in teh machine that should have been hung-up yesterday
the DW needs emptied and restacked
the floor has cereal on it then I haven't bothered hoovering up since wednesday :O
there is a pile of veg in the fridge on the turn and I can't face more soup!
we have nothing for a proper easter sunday meal today (were meant to be going out but DH has had a rugby accident!)
I haven't mopped the floors since we moved in 8 weeks ago
the dining room can't be seen under unpacked boxes from when we moved in.

BUT, the dreaded M-I-L has invited herself over tomorrow so all this will be remedied this afternoon, whilst a cake bakes in the oven so I can be the ultimate domestic godess in her eyes, even if her son knows better :D

At this rate I'd have a good "customer base" if I ever decide to hire myself out as an "eco-friendly Kim and Aggie" lookalike!:D

Thats a good tip that is Studentgirl - Ive never thought of the boot as being the new understairs cupboard but it is - and i will be utilising it:j
I poured bicarb of soda on a milk spill in our boot several months ago. I still haven't hoovered it up. :o

I LOVE you lot. I was pretty overwhelmed last week. Now I think, hey, I'm no different to anyone else. And Ma Walton, fantastic as she was, is one heck of a standard to try to set myself. :D

Going to visit my parents today. My bets are that DH falls asleep on the couch, I doze off in the back room after lunch, I offer to wash up but let my dad do it.

    Bless ya all!

Having been in need of a firm kick lately, I have read this thread with a mix of interest, comparison and laughter.

I now know I'm not the only one.

I keep having those little conversations with myself to get back on track, but it hasn't happened. Thankfully, I'm not alone.

    Thankyou GR.

My husband gets stressed about it before I do. Every now and again the toys seem to take over and the washing piles up and he complains that we live in a tip and 'everyone else can keep their place tidy'.

2 things I point out to him. We never call on anyone unannounced so they have time to hide the clutter. We have 2 children and 3 cats. Go figure! I'm going to show him this thread. I laughed like a drain. Hopefully it'll have the same effect on him.

    Ok my turn

My kitchen is spotless, Katy cleaned it yesterday while I was out (I think from the smell she Pledged the kitchen surfaces) but I don't care, it looks clean. Ditto the hall stairs & landing.

I have one of hubby's shirts in the cupboard to iron, it's been there since DD got married in November & will probably still be there next November unless someone else gets married.

I warned hubby when we met that I didn't 'do domestics' but assured him that something else that I can't put on here would be available. When I tell my friends this they think I'm strange, but I look at it this way, keeping a house clean & tidy takes for ever & is never ending, what I do takes 5 to 15 minutes & lasts 24 hours, lol.

    Hugs Hester

This thread is brilliant,I have been laughing my socks off here.

It is such a relief to find out that you are not all paragons of virtue,I had imagined you all Flylady-ing every day, with spotless clean houses.Whenever I read the Flylady thread,I feel most inadequate, but housework has never been one of my priorities.

I have many cobwebs festooned around my house

Last night's washing up is still sitting on the draining board

I found I was down to my last clean pair of knickers this morning and I only iron something when I want to wear it

I have wrinkly veg in the fridge which I can't be bothered to make into soup

The kitchen floor hasn't been mopped for weeks and as for the state of the oven.....

My bed really needs changing, but as I am the only one who sleeps in it,I don't care.

I don't have any visitors this weekend, which is a relief, because then I would have had to frantically clean everywhere and buy lots of extra food and cook it all.As it is,I can now slob around all weekend watching dvd's and eating chocolate.I haven't eaten my 5 a day for about a week.

I shall save this thread and look back on it when my house is a tip and remember that everyone else isn't perfect either.

Ma Walton had Grandma Walton living with her to help!!

She also sent her children out to work in the lumber mill with Pa Walton and grandpa Walton.. hardly safe!

She didn't let anyone in any part of the house unless it was dinner time, then they were allowed in the kitchen.. the bedroom.. at bedtime and after dinner they were allowed to listen to the radio for an hour before bed...

She wasn't THAT fantastic ... and I have more children than her!.. lol

I have a room in my house which we haven't ever used.. it has been an indoor garage for the last 3 YEARS!!!!

I have boxes unpacked from when we moved here (july 05)

I have only ever cleaned my oven once in 5 years.

My windows are so dirty they look like I have nets up!
