A few years ago i had a liberating moment or a lightbulb moment and it changed my life.......

I went to Matalan and bought 40 pairs of identical black socks, went home and rid the house of every other black sock....so now all 5 males have socks which always match and live in a basket on the landing chest. Every so often I repeat the process AND IT FEELS GOOD.

NEVER AGAIN WILL I PAIR SOCKS,NEVER AGAIN WILL I HEAR THE WORDS,......THESE DONT MATCH!!

On the subject of confessions though, yesterday MIL came for tea,she was complaining that SIL had a mountain of ironing that she ever gets to,all I could think was god I hope the ironing cupboard doesnt give in unde the pressure of the pile and open while she is here. When we had new wardobes built into DS room,I had an extra one put in to hold ironing and its still not big enough. Does it breed?

Morning all and a comfortable, relaxed and guilt-free Happy Easter to you all!

Not dressed yet but what the heck, I have to read this thread, it's much more important - and salves my conscience! Was due to visit my mum today but 70 miles in snow has put paid to that so I'm slobbing in my dressing gown with a cup of black coffee (forgot to buy milk and have just enough for tomorrow mornings tea) and have just sent a txt to my neighbour for her DD to come to the back fence so I couild give her her egg, (couldn't be bothered to get dressed and go to her front door).

The kitchen floor is now filthy where one dog and 2 cats have traipsed in and out bringing mud and snow with them so I must clean that - sometime. (Why can't they all go in/out at the same time, I'm like a b***** door attendant  )

I bought some pretty Easter egg shaped tins from the charity shop to fill with goodies for my 3 DGC but can't remember what I did with them so have to go to the garage to see if they'll sell me some chocolate (not likely on Easter Day but you gotta try), if not they're going to get their eggs next week - bonus is I'll probably get them at reduced price ;)

Hester I can't see how any man could argue with your logic, you get my vote for best post in the forum!

Didn't Ma Ingalls have the army of Ingalls children to help her? (Plus she let Pa Ingalls move them somewhere that meant they periodically had to fight bears)

I like this thread - I'm currently hiding in my room listening to my landlord hoover downstairs, knowing that when i go downstairs i will have to tackle last nights washing up. The kitchen floor hasn't been cleaned since i last did it two weeks ago (and i'm the only one who cleans it) and i have more washing in my wardrobe than will actually fit in it so it has colonised the floor of my room.

On the plus side i'm the only one who ever sees the inside of my room and the tower of stuff in my landlords room is actually dangerous.

what I do takes 5 to 15 minutes & lasts 24 hours, lol.

    Hugs Hester

My OH says 5 to 15 minutes must mean your doing it at least twice. :D

I am so tired after my midnight jaunt as the Easter bunny that I've just noticed when I poached the fish for the fish pie I forgot to remove the bit's of cardboard packaging from under the fish. :o Still, it's been sieved out now and no one will be any the wiser. :D

    OK here's mine!!
I've got a top in the bottom of my laundry basket that I'm steadfastly ignoring as it's handwash only..the main problem is that it's an erm summer top so has been there a short while.
When I cleaned out the sandpit for freecycle on Friday I had to remove all the stones and other guff the small person and his friend had buried in last summer:D
I'm quoted in Thrify Ways as using a velvet skirt to make a scarf...erm that skirt is still cut up and the scarf is only half done.
I discovered a big tub of frozen apple in my freezer when I finally defrosted it which I'm sure I told everyone proudly on the daily thread that I was going to make apple butter with...only got half done. Has now been mixed with leftover cream and eaten as fruit fool!
As for cobwebs I don't remove them too readily....after all they're a spider's home and you wouldn't want your home brutally swept away would you now:rotfl::rotfl:[well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it]

PS If like me you spend a lot of your time wearing your halo around your waist due to major slippage I've done a Queenie double duty thingy with it and discovered that it makes a good hula hoop:D I've formed the hula club but sadly am to date the only member:D:D

The cardboard on fish reminds me of the chewy bit we had on a pizza a few weeks ago, can tell when you aren't used to buying them because that funny smell in the oven is the plasticy tray they put underneath it :o Took ages to get it off the baking tray.
One day I might be more organised...........
