why don't you get a reduced purchase price instead. Go in and tell them what you want to pay to change and if they will agree you will sign on the dotted line. I've just done that and the car I have bought is now sold out in the uk so its not like they couldn't shift them. I wanted 7 percent discount and interest free and a tank of fuel. I got the deal by resrearching the Internet and on here. The dealer made a low margin but it was another towards his target in a time where people are generally cutting back. If local dealer won't do it for you ring around until you get the deal you want.

I didnt haggle just said what I wanted.

Also take a look at pistonheads. A good site to see what cars are shifting for.

Well i went in last Monday and had a chat with the salesman. He said strictly he could offer no more than £800 for my car, and would not be able to lower the price.

Im not too fussed with the interest, as its 7.9% which is about what i would get charged for a bank loan. You seem to have got a pretty good deal. If the salesman does ring me, with it being the end of the month and all that, then i will try and get a better price for my car, and the brand new one.

Yeh, thats a good idea. I may look on the Ford forums!

With Ford finance don't you have to pay a few hundred pounds arrangement fee which is added to your loan?

If you do then you could save that extra money by getting a loan from your bank which does not include an arrangement fee.

They used to do that actually but the salesman told me that they dont do that any more, all they do is charge a £10 purchase fee with you very last payment on the car.

They basically got too many complaints about the fee, so they just do a £10 purchase fee now.

Saw a finance deal on it today

£166 deposit, £166 a month with 3k on the end

Maybe this will allow you to buy now and hold onto the old one til someone goes mental:D

Yeh but how many months is that over? Im not going to pay 3k at the end of a term to keep my car. I will pay near 2300 deposit at the start.

I was just giving you an alternative option to get round your problems at the beginning, you could put your deposit and proceeds of the sale of the worlds best fiesta into a high interest accounts or shares to cover the 3k at the end.
