I'd rather pay the proportion off at the beginning, rather than the end.. just incase I couldn't raise the entire 3K when it was needed (say for example.. if I lost my job) then I would be b*ggered. I'd rather do it the way I've worked out for peace of mind, whether it be this month, or whenever I've sold my car.0

Well i went in last Monday and had a chat with the salesman. He said strictly he could offer no more than £800 for my car, and would not be able to lower the price.
Im not too fussed with the interest, as its 7.9% which is about what i would get charged for a bank loan. You seem to have got a pretty good deal. If the salesman does ring me, with it being the end of the month and all that, then i will try and get a better price for my car, and the brand new one.
Yeh, thats a good idea. I may look on the Ford forums!
If you take a look at 'What Car?' target price for your new car and then try another dealer. It's a pity you don't want Toyota I am sure my dealer would have helped.
I found going to a dealer just out of your normal catchment area helps, as they know they won't get your business unless they play ball.
If they do a deal I wouldn't bother too much about your PE price so long as overall to change is acceptable to you.0 -
I like Toyota but i dont want to do any of that Hire purchase malarky. Well for the Ford Fiesta Style, the actual Ford website price is over £9000, as where as Bristol Street Motors are doing them for £6495 at the moment.0

HP is a fine deal for me - at 0% (and no fees). I'll keep my savings in my mortgage offset.
OK, so if your above figures stack up, it sounds like they have a deal on already. I'd probably not expect anything more unless What Car target price said I ought to be.
Their deal is bound to affect your PE. Fair enough if you want to wait, there will always be loads of cars around. Unfortunately, the same argument goes for your second hand sale but it's your choice to wait.0 -
Yeh i know, thats why i was asking that much for my car in the first place. I dont think they will come down on the car price nor will they offer me more for a PX. I might go and have another chat with the saleman tomorrow anyway, as i think he is eager to get his sale done before the month end.0

Goodluck.I've been delighted with my deal and I never ever thought I would buy new.0

I never thought i would buy new either. Whats it like driving a new car? Just out of interest, what Toyota did you go for? I love the Yaris!
How much did you pay in the end? If you dont mind me asking!0 -
I got a brand new yaris on 0% finance at the end of last year for £7830
Toyota have a lot of deals on0 -
I bought a 5 door Aygo Blue. We have a 8 seater vehicle already and needed to PE our second car to get a cheap runaround for our local mileage with fuel prices rising so much. We also wanted minimal RFL cost.
The OTR price for the spec we wanted was 8385. I got 610 off, free tank of fuel plus the Toyota 0% finance 36 month deal.
I have always bought second hand - usually saving 30%- but with the deal above I couldn't buy used for that price.
I'm past being impressed with material goods, so driving new - or not - doesn't bother me. What I'm impressed by is the fact I have already driven 210 miles and still have half a tank of petrol left (and a full tank is only 32 litres!)0 -
So do you pay a set amount per month, and then after the 36 months are up, do you have to pay a final fee to keep the car? I got to admit, that fuel economy is pretty impressive!!!0
