In case you havent been given the answer yet

If that link doesn't work, go to USER CP --> EDIT OPTIONS --> THREAD DISPLAY OPTIONS and it's in there.

You can have it on 100 posts per page i think if you are feeling too cool for school.

You did well to walk away, its principle more than anything.. i wouldn't like to be told something and then told the next day it was not true..

    Happy car Hunting..

Thanks, it was hard... but i dont want to be conned into anything!!! He may phone me in due course... who knows there may be a better offer on next month!!

I also agree on sticking to principles. Mind you, a free remote key and mats probably does add up to £85, doesn't it? Our Aygo keys are £110 each! By asking for bluetooth weren't you asking for nearly £300 worth of extras?
  • Your being unreasonable in all honesty

The extras they were adding in on what was already a heavily discounted car were pretty good

You wanted an option which is only standard on special editions and the top of the range models

At the end of the day its £85 to be paid with the last payment, if you really want to walk away when you wont get a better deal on this car then thats your choice but I reckon if you want a fiesta new you should just sign up

i agree here, the salesman made a small mistake, and you are getting extras free,so i really dont see the problem.
time to give your dad his cash back, and try and sell your current fiesta in a months time then?
a lot of hassle for the sake of £95 in a few years time.i doubt they will call you back,if i was the salesman i would actually dread seeing you walk through the showroom doors again, these fiestas will sell no problem so loosing your sale wont worry them im sure.

Well he was going to throw in a spare remote key and mats anyway. The Bluetooth he quoted was £150. The salesman was quite happy to throw it in for me, but he went to get authorization from his manager, and the manager said a big fat no..

Luckily my dad hasnt paid me, he didnt want the car until i got a new one. Im not in no rush, and im a bit wary now because i feel as though they may be taking me for a ride.

it isnt the salesmans budget it would be coming from it would be the managers.
anyway if you want bluetooth why not get an aftermarket parrot bluetooth system fitted yourself, they are very good and start from around £80.

To be honest, I didn't plan to have the bluetooth, but he said that the black fiesta in Dagenham had the bluetooth in it, and that would cost me an extra 150, otherwise I would have to wait for a fiesta to be shipped from Holland. So my response was, yeah that's fine.. but I don't want to be paying any more, considering you've already mixed up your sums and Im paying 85 more than I orignially thought, and budgetted for. I'd be perfectly happy with the 'normal' stereo system.

And as for him dreading seeing me again, well I couldn't give a damn to be honest.. and lucky for him, he won't be seeing me again anyway. If I do decide to get a Ford in the near future, il be going to the BS a few miles away anyway.

Personally, I don't think they are taking you for a ride. They are refusing to deal heavily due to the price being discounted anyway. I'd imagine if you were close to what they want for a deal they wouldn't have let you walk away, but there is only so far you can push as they aren't going to lose on a car or take on masses of paperwork for nothing.

I've just looked at our local garage and they have one year old three door styles for sale for £7k. My suspicions are, your dealer is working on high turnover low price for their trade this month. Hence their inability to do much for you.

I think you just asked for too much. The only way I can see them coming back to you is if they need one more sale to meet some bonus target.

BTW did your salesman say the price was 6495 plus 350, or 6995?.....ahh I have just read your post before this one.Is that where the 150 difference came from yesterday - bluetooth?

Unless they are rushed off their feet I doubt they will be dreading seeing you again. They are salesmen - they will have seen it all before.
