It's all such silly stuff although I'd feel the same as you. Makes my dealer look like an angel!

I wonder if they are playing you up due to your age/excitement or to distract you into arguing about extras that shouldn't even be added rather than giving you the time to deal on the original agreed price.

Do you have any other dealers you can go to who will stop this silly movement of goalposts?
  • I agree with Kez100 here if you think they are messing you about and from what you say it seems they are then call their bluff and go elsewhere..

If you are in the midlands area there are plenty other ford dealerships who would love your business..

Its alot of money at the end of the day mate and if they are messing you about now then what is their after-sales service going to be like..

P.S.. Don't have your car serviced at Bristol Street its at least £40 dearer than other places..assuming you are in the midlands that is..

Well £6495 is a Bristol Street price, thats the only thing about it. I have phoned the Kings Norton branch, which is the 2nd nearest and they have also quoted me £95 final purchase fee.

I dont have a problem with it, just the fact that they have mislead me on saying that it would be £10.... he has even wrote this down on their little Bristol Street booklet which they use to work out your personal prices and situation. He also said it was like a " contract ".

I may be young, but im also very switched on, and not gullible. I have already walked away twice!! They have phoned after me...

What are my chances of asking for the £95 charge taken off the price off the car as i was mislead?

Or maybe asking for a free first service?
  • Your best course of action is to see the salesman who gave you the figures initially.. I've just spoken to my dad and sister who have bought from there in the past and they both know nothing about a purchase fee, i can only assume it was included in the price of the car..

Edit: It looks like a fee their finance company impose, you must be having their finance then, if you have no car to trade then why not find your own finance without a final purchase fee..

Yeh but did your dad and sister have the cars on finance? If so, i suggest they phone up Ford Credit Europe and get them to check!!!!

Why are they all saying £95 when Ford Finance are saying £10? I'm confused.

You seem to have an odd relationship building up with the other salesmen.

I'd definitely start again and meet your salesman tomorrow and get the starter price at 6495 plus 350 (mets) and 10 final fee. I don't think I would go on and on about what has happened today just try and pick up where you left off from so there is no distraction from these silly changes. Then, once you have picked up from where you left off, start negotiating...... however, there is only so far any salesman will go and clearly the deal is a good one (or you would be prepared to go elsewhere) so there is likely to be little margin to play with.

Yeh, i think thats what i will do, i just cant believe the cheek of some salesmen. I am not really prepared to pay an EXTRA £95 when i have been quoted £10. I find that pretty unfair.

I know its a good deal, but theres only so far some people can stretch their budgets to.

Come on, thinking something is worth more than it is isn't a crime. Nor is posting vitriol; unfortunately.

You are obviously not in business. I hate time wasters but I love a person with a bit of ooooompf.
