Well done on twisting your Dads arm! (Not critisising - my Dad paid for my first years insurance...err....umm....once upon a time....and I'm being twisted for an ipod touch by my daughter this very moment)0

just a normal cheque? My dad is paying me in a cheque, and at the moment, i only have £1000 in cash to give in, where i need £2000. Would they still do a deal if i were to pay £1000 cash today, and wait for the cheque to be cleared before paying the other 1k off??0

Well.. I went into Bristol Street during my lunch break today, and the salesman I usually deal with wasn't in. So I spoke to the other guy, told him I had my deposit sorted, and wanted to proceed with the paperwork and order the car. Now, last week I was quoted £6845 (£6495 + £350 metallic paint) which was written down on the paperwork in order to work the finance out - this paperwork is saved in their files, as I asked to take it with me for reference and told I wasn't allowed.
So today, the other guy is quoting me £6995! I explained the price I was told only last week, and he wasn't having any of it! I said that it's £6845 with metallics, but he wasn't budging on £6995?! Although they have the cheaper £6495 price advertised everywhere! He spoke to his boss (who incidentally was the one who confirmed the cheaper price last week) and he boss said No - it is £6995! So where have they got the extra £150 from?!
So annoying. Now I've gotta go back in tomorrow to speak to the other guy. Why are they varying the price like this, eventhough they are aware of the cheaper price, and I have been quoted it in their paperwork?0 -
That would annoy me if the garage did this to me. I would prefer to take my business elsewhere and pay more if I have to just so they don't get the business.0
