Hello everyone, I just want to say THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AND I WENT TO COURT TODAY, AND I TOLD THEM MY CIRCUMSTANCES AND KINDA BEGGED TO KEEP MY LICENCE, THE RESULT WAS ..... 7 DAY BAN AND £185 FINE including court fees... after 7 days, everything will be back to normal. i have no points no nothing, clean licence after. My misery is finally over, i want everyone to learn from my mistake and do not drive an uninsured car.... even if its for 2 seconds, you never know whats behind you..
Thank you.... James.
Remember, you will be asked at renewal if you have 'ever received a ban or been disqualified from driving'.
Your licence will be endorsed with the disqualification I think.
P.S. If disqualified, the offence will remain on your licence for 4 years from the date of conviction. You are normally asked when insuring or renewing if any endorsements within last five years.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I also think that your licence will be endorsed to show the ban - and possibly the fine, too.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

Not really. I received notice of 14 days for a hearing on a civil case. Think of murder cases; they are up in front of the judge the next day for the preliminaries. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Well young fella you made a mistake and now youv'e paid for it. The ban will really cost you at renewal and for a good few years to come, but then we all know the risks.
The one thing I'd like to commend you on is the way you have presented yourself on here. You have come over as a fair bit more sensible than your initial indiscretion would have suggested, and have not risen to some of the provocative posts aimed at you. I admire your restraint, I would have bitten back.
Learn from it and keep it safe and legal;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

How did you deduce this? He may have got plenty of notice.
Are you Inspector Clouseau in disguise?
What are you really saying?0 -

Can i just ask what if they take over 6 months to summons you? My friend got caught with no insurance last year, just over 7 months ago, and hes only just got a letter about it.0 -
The six months doesn't refer to when the defendant gets the summons, but the time allowed for them to place the matter in the court's hands.0

After just 10 days of getting my first car, I ran a red light. There was a police car waiting round the corner and I ended up getting a fine and 3 points. I have learnt my lesson, but am surprised at this outcome. Well, I shouldnt be really. The system is just stupid. Its all the same with the justice system. If this idiot had hit somebody then the victim wouldnt have seen a penny for repairs or damages. I dont condone speeding, but punishment should be set out and so we all know the consequences from the outset.0
