Regarding my post #33, and seeing now you've been done I'd just like to say at the time I was in two minds. I should have stuck with my gut instint and merely said start saving fo the fine as all coppers ae !!!!!!!s.

Does that comment include Sharon Beshenivsky?

... and the many other policemen and women who may lose their lives or risk injury serving the public?

Nope - I am not a policeman, don't like getting caught for speeding any more than anyone else - but I don't think I am alone when I ask you to temper your comments and keep them specifically related to the topic - please. :A

Just to add to the thoughts of *MF* & C_Ronaldo: I agree wholeheartedly that the Police do a grand job and we'd be lost without them. Where on earth would we be without them apprehending villains or in the case of this thread - letting people get off scot free - or having no laws of the road at all!!! Just think of the carnage there'd be with maniacs let to please themselves what speed they travel at on the road. They have a hard enough job as it is and are given grief whichever way they turn - all due to people resenting authority!

Please Retired I.F.A. don't try relating your feelings to the victims of crime, you may get more than you bargain for! You may also be glad of them yourself some day!!!

James Good to hear that at least you now know where you stand. Good luck and learn from it!

Up yours too. I hope the likes of my husband never have to respond to the likes of you getting beat up. It wouldn't be worth the risk to save your thankless hide.

Hell I'd be one today possibly had I got all my previous employers references together in time as they had to turn me down following my 30th birthday which was the age limit at the time.

Do you know it's very strange that when you insulted teachers you told me you were really just jealous as you would liked to have been one. Now when you insult police officers you tell us you were almost in the police force!

What will it be next? ;)

Did the title "Retired IFA" come from being "forcibly retired" or did it come about from lack of business, or just plain old and retired.

I know the FSA have standards and bar certain characters from even being an IFA, unbelievable, but true, I would be interested to see if this mixed up individual had some dealings which he doesnt wish to discuss. But then again I imagine the story will involve being set up by Mi5 and the russians ; )

I can't begin to count how many times the old life on mars routine of tales of daring do, and dark sides which we won't talk about, has been banded about by this kind of empty Walter Mitty character, and bleated about by the old world has beens, or never quite got there beens ; ) sad really, possibly a move to the Costa's where a lot of "retired IFA's" end up, and the bars are full of dregs with these stories, ahh for the return to the Sweeny.

Just my opinion, and I'm sure I'm entitled to one ? aren't I.
