If you are prosecuted for driving without insurance, you will get 6 points on your licence and a big fine. Seeing as you've not had a full licence for 2 years, that will mean an automatic ban and retest. You said earlier that your uncle gave you the car you are driving around in. Either it's your car, or it's not. If you are the main driver of the car, you should be named as the main driver on the insurance. Insurance companies have ways of finding out who the main driver really is. Phone up the local nick and find out one way or the other about pending prosecution. It's the only way you're going to put your mind at rest.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Hey, haha, Nah, i was at a roundabout with 3 of my mates, and i took the third exit, on the second exit i saw a police van, and it followed me, then it was behind me, i wernt breaking any laws. i was driving at 30mph and it just pulled me for no reason, i think the officer thought i didnt have no licence as i look young... but i proved him wrong and did a name check said i was clear and let me go.
Just shows how squeaky clean you need to be for a while:money:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
You probably got pulled because you were driving so perfect and bang on 30mph.Hey, haha, Nah, i was at a roundabout with 3 of my mates, and i took the third exit, on the second exit i saw a police van, and it followed me, then it was behind me, i wernt breaking any laws. i was driving at 30mph and it just pulled me for no reason, i think the officer thought i didnt have no licence as i look young... but i proved him wrong and did a name check said i was clear and let me go.
Strange I know, but it happens.
I got pulled over on new year's day once with 3 very hung over friends in the car. The policeman just laughed at them and I was free to go on my way once he knew I wasn't drunk!
Just one of the issues with being young and for me anyway that day having a fairly decent car (I borrowed my dad's as I was driving a long distance)

For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
Can I just say that if you were to be sanctioned for the offence, you'd have had the car siezed THERE AND THEN under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act. Every police force in the UK does this
I can categorically say you have got away with it, you passed the attitude test, so stop stressing about it.0 -
Police do pull over younger drivers more than older ones, especially if they have a nice car. My son is 26 but looks younger, he has a good job with good pay, is mad about cars, so much so that I feel as if he changes cars every 6 Months, in the last 18 Months he has had a Astra VXR, Mercede ML, Audi A4 Quattro and is now back to a Mercedes ML, he was forever getting pulled over by the police (especially when it was the Audi he had, in fact the reason he sold this car was because of the amount of time he was getting pulled over) It got to the stage where we were contemplating writing to the local Chief Constable as it was becoming a bad joke and very frustrating for him, but we wondered whether it would make things worse (he now hates the police with a passion
which in my book is a shame)
I don't know whether he just hasn't been telling me, or it's because he has change back to the Merc, but he has spoken less about being pulled over by the police lately, but unfortunately as mentioned, he hate the police so much now that I think if he was asked to help the police as a witness or to help a officer in distress, he would deny he saw anything or just ignore whatever was happening to that officer.0 -

More duff information from chat forum experts:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
The car was insured by the owner just not for the OP, so why would it have been siezed? Owner of the car was present at the scene and was told not to let OP drive it again. However I feel there is a lot more to this tale than the OP is letting on, and as for getting away with it, one cannot categorically say that until the window for the summons to arrive has been shut, no Notice of Intended Prosecution needed as he was told he was being reported for the offence at the time.0 -
As opposed to a "chat forum expert" who doesn't know that Notice of Intended Prosecution is never required in no insurance cases? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Tight_Old_Git wrote: »More duff information from chat forum experts:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

How can you say the last paragraph categorically when we've already had Policeman giving advice to James on this thread, but they haven't said anything like that? As for the car being seized there and then, it shouldn't have been as it was his mate's car. He was insured - but - James was driving it (uninsured) at the time.
