  • I've been using them for years and still have some stock with me to give as presents.

These days however, I try not to buy any books for the children, as we have no space in the house anyway. Instead, once every few weeks, I take them to our local library which is by the river. The girls get to choose 8 books each. Then we feed the ducks and swans, and play ball in the small park just outside. :D My children love their outing!

I only buy workbooks these days, to help with their reading, writing and maths as you can't write on library books.

Hi, would you mind telling me how long it took for delivery after you placed the order? You see I will be going away in two weeks time and are considering buying some books as gifts to take with me. Thanks!

I got mine yesterday after ordering them on their website last Sunday. I got 2 childrens lucky dips, 1x 6-9 and 1x 10+, and an adult lucky dip. I found them ALL to be a fantastic selection......including 3 hardback biographies with the adult lot. Excellent value!

Mine came within the 5 working days too.

I was so happy with my 6-9 and 10+ lucky dip, I've ordered 2 more of each :D

Perfect for any spares to go to school fares, charity shops, gifts etc.

was impressed with my lucky dip too. i got vernon god little, which has a cover price of 10.99 and i quite fancied anyway. the rest look pretty interersting, and my grandma can have the catherine cookson.
    :)

Only problem is that i ordered a contempory fiction collection which looks a bit rubbsih, especially as i have 10 lucky dip books to read first. i'd have to pay the postage to return it, and since it's heavy its probably not worth it. oh well.
  • i am very disappointed with my selection.ordered 3 lots of 1-5 and 3 lots 0f 6-9.All 3 sets of 1-5 were exactly the same and included 3 plastic bath books and 6 colouring books.phoned customer services this am and they basially said"tough luck".told me i could return them all but would have to pay postage!!!!!!
  • I got a code for free postage in the mail yesterday
I also used the lucky dip offer so I am very happy with this company at the moment

*** code removed by Board Guide (please see here for explanation) ***

see my post on online & offline vouchers board for the code "Anyone need free postage for the book people?"

on the page after you select postage - £3.50 there is a box to enter the code & the postage will be £0
    expires 30 th september

I'm really shocked at that. Could you maybe ring again hopefully getting a different person, and asking to speak to someone more senior if you get the same response?

I'd be mad as hell at that

I emailed them after my 1 - 5 lucky dip contained 4 colouring books and 6 -9 had nothing really suitable for a 6year old. They called me the following morning and are sending me 4 replacement books for the 1 - 5 and refunding my money for the 6 -9 year old pack - I have just to donate the spares to charity - Excelent Customer Service - Phone them back!
