Well, I got my calling card yesterday from the TVLA scum
*yawn*
I was out anyways and curtains were drawn but they still bang on the door to see if I need a TV license (which I don't) - so why don't they believe me?It's hard to find the balance when you are love.

A. When it's an 0300 number.
" I have now apologised to the BBC via email"....
and I am just about to un-apologise! No wonder they didn't bother to reply!!
Even the guy I spoke to when I last rang Vodafone at Home (VAH) thought that 0300 numbers were free, but I have just spoken to him again and found that it is not so!
"The tariff that you are charged when you ring an 0300 number is set by the person you are calling."
Ergo, when I rang the BBC, it was indeed the very same who were responsible for my being charged for the call! This actually means that companies have a vested interest in employing less staff and keeping customers on hold because they are making a profit for every minute that you are on hold!!! Just think of that next time a recorded message is informing you, "call volumes are higher than normal ..... your call is important to us ....." or you are listening to a tinny rendition of, "The Ride of the Valkyries". BBC - YOU STINK!!! :mad:0 -
"The tariff that you are charged when you ring an 0300 number is set by the person you are calling."
No it isn’t!
The cost of your call,(to any number), is set by YOUR provider! i.e. if a call from your phone to an 01 /02 number costs 6ppm, then a call to an 03 number will also cost 6ppm. if you have inclusive minutes then the call to an 03 number will cost you nothing, just like an 01/02 number.
See OFCOM, "what are 03 numbers?".
See also Cabinet Office ;-
"03 Callers pay no more for calling 03 numbers than they do for calling a
geographic number (01 or 02) according to the call package they have and
the line they are calling from. For all communications providers calls to 03
numbers are included in discount packages and inclusive minutes in the same
way as calls to geographic numbers. This also applies to mobiles, although
callers should check with their provider if they are unsure of the terms of their
call package."

Hi there,
I've just moved into my property and tried applying online for a TV licence. I decided to pay monthly via direct debit.
For some reason they want £24.25 per month until January 2011 (6 months making it £145.50) from February they then want £12 per month.
Any idea why i should pay £145.50 for a TV licence for 6 months?
A very confused Mark0 -
i love the BBC and watch it every day,I dont mind paying the licence at all as it gives excellent value compared to Sky which is just a massive rip off- channel after channel of mind numbing rubbish! Keep the licence going thats what I say, as it spreads the burden evenly and ensures there will always be a good standard of programming WITHOUT ANY commercial breaks.Argentine by birth,English by nature0

You pay for the 1st year in the first 6-5 months and remaining 6 months you pay towards next years licence. It's hard to find the balance when you are love.

Thats right.
6 payments of £24.25, the 6 payments of £12 towards 2011 licence (1st half), then what you will find on the 7th payment when the new licence paperwork comes through this will change to reflect their increases... so it will be more than £12 to balance it out the remain 6 months. It's hard to find the balance when you are love.

Hi All
Just put another "Dear Occupier" letter in the fire, delivered to a property we are renovating. When we are in & watching programmes as they are broadcast I will buy a licence but unil then they can keep fueling my fire.
Yours
