I am def going to buy some raisins and make the rum and raisin bread.

Oh well if I wear it out in the first 12 months then I'll get another one :j

    Morning everyone

It may be worth you getting another one now whilst they are still on offer to put away, you would be devastated if it stopped working.

I purchased the Tesco BM 10 tens ago but have had to cut my losses and bought the Panasonic one. I attempted 6 loaves of bread (ingredients from scratch and ready-mix packs) and had no luck. Very inconsistent.

Got my Pan. on Wednesday and have made 2 loaves and both are perfect. I'm happy now. You really do get what you pay for unfortunately. I'm going to ask my brother if he wants my Tesco BM but feel bad that if he does have it, it's not going to really do what it's supposed to do

Someone provided a very interesting link about out much more involved the Pan. BM is on the breadmaking process - that did it for me.

The REAL yeast everyone is talking about that you get from the supermarket is free, it's brill but I find you are always best to do a second proving when using it. ( nothing smells as good as the real live yeast when it is doing its magic in the jug with warm water and sugar it reminds you of how good the finished bread will taste )
Let me know how you get on with the fresh yeast and how you do it. I think I'll prob do it the once, but I'm not keen on storing the yeast so most of the time it'll be the sachets.
On top of that, last night I made my first PERFECT loaf! I don't know what I did wrong the day before, but today's was beautiful.
The only odd thing is that the 700g loaf I made absolutely filled the breadpan, so is a 900g loaf going to be thicker or did I put too much of something in? 700g was more than enough though so I might just stck to that!

Hi generationgav :D Well done, congrats on your perfect loaf. I had a feeling you would persist till you achieved it. If you were pleased with the texture and taste of your 700g loaf then you have done nothing wrong. I am off to get some live yeast today so I will let you know how I get on. I am salivating as I type just thinking of the smell of the live yeast fermenting:eek::rotfl::D:D:rotfl::rotfl:Here's to happy breadmaking

Hi everyone. I have been using my B/M loads and reading all the advice on here. The only problem I am having is the bread is heavier on the bottom (that is the only way I can describe it) Any idea what could be causing it?

    many thanks

Get your brother to try the recipes that I have posted in this thread, the ones that Claire70 has been using. She says she has had great results.
