I think they all suit themselves the school I work in has taken today and Monday off and then doesnt break up until 4th April, my girls break up next week , my friends kids broke up yesterday for 2 weeks, plays havoc with the diaries for trying to cath up with everyone.
Off out now to price up a new bathroom suite and wooden flooring for the new house, and to look at paint/wallpaper etc.
Catch up later.0 -
Morning all
Not been posting for a couple of days because I've felt crap with this cold - still do really. I have been doing some flying though. Did all the bedrooms on Wednesday, including stripping and remaking my bed. Did the bathroom/toilet yesterday. Vacuumed through downstairs today and dusted living room. Made a batch of Easter biscuits yesterday.
Just did it all in 10 minute bursts followed by 10 minutes sit down to stop shaking. The catarrh is making me feel really sick and dizzy, but I know from past experience that any medicine designed to help just makes me actually throw up.
Hex - could you put that recipe on here - for the cake with nothing in! My DH is diabetic so it would be good to make a cake that he can eat guilt-free. You mentioned honey, I wonder if a little golden syrup could be substituted, because I've got that in the cupboard but no honey.
Sounds like a lot of people have been having a rubbish week, don't want to miss anyone out so just sending good wishes to anybody who needs or wants them.0 -
hugs nicki
thanks for everyones wishes about my wrist
jill - seeing the list of who's lost what has made me more determined. i'm not going to see my 2lb loss go back on. i'm aiming for another 2lbs this week. i will not eat lots of easter eggs, i will not eat lots of easter eggs!
pigpen - i must have a very clean mind as i didn't know what you were on abut with the wet thing. soon understood though, lol. you'll have fun collecting in two weeks!
i've woken up snotty and with a sore throat so i'm not getting dressed today. staying on sofa and in bed. dh has cleaned cooker and is being a flyman today.

Pollybear, My mum makes it for my diabetic brother: 150g SR Flour, 150g dried fruit, 1 table spoon syrup, 1 egg, made up to 1/4 pint with milk. Mix it altogether, into a small loaf tin. 30 mins at 180/GM4

JillD - I have got a target weight :rotfl: Its 14st, and I'm currently 14st 3lbs with a total loss so far of 1st 3lbs (17lbs) since the 21st January. Slowly but surely its coming off
I'll have another target soon, but I'm not "publicising" it until I reach my first one
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
It is a bank holiday just not all schools choose to take easter off, they break up next Thurs for 3 weeks. And yes the weather forecast is horrible for here today, it has sstarted off so nice - clear skies sun out but now its very grey and windy with the odd snow/sleet shower forecast:eek:
Def not going over doorstep!0 -
:hello: :hello: :hello: Hello everyone
pigpen thanks for the lists:T :T
:grouphug: nicki, I don't know what to say, as nothing can change how you feel. I am thinking of you. And I hope you have a good day today and a better nights sleep.
mudbath I hope your wrist starts to improve soon. Keep it up (raised), especially when it swells. I've had broken ankle and wrist in the last two years so am beginning to feel a bit of an expert about these things! :rotfl:
I still put my wrist on a cushion on my lap at night when watching tv when it starts to ache.
hex Thanks for the recipe I am going to try it. I am doing SW on line so will see if it is low on syns.
Lil_me we haven't started veg sowing yet as weather has been so bad up here. Either wet or frozen and we would normally sow seeds this weekend but can't as everything is frozen solid. I will pm you when we start.
I've had a very busy flying week and the house is spic and span. Being unable to get on line has sort of encouraged me to do more housework. I am trying to get to grips with the laptop so I can log in easier. I can't manage the mouse and keep losing posts and then get really disheartened.
JillD I belong to Lose Weight 19n on here but would like to join in with yours too as it helps to see how much I've lost. This week I have lost 2lbs. That's 14lb since I started. I bought Easter eggs for the family yesterday AND one for myself. Not a gsensible thing to do. I found some low fat hot cross buns in the \Coop same price as others so have bought six for me and six ordinary ones for the other 4. I don't think that equates!business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

gunsandbanjos wrote: »Luby lou, can i have your recipe for leek and potato soup, been wanting to make it for ages:rolleyes:
No probs - I use 1/2 fat creme fraiche in the recipe but you can use cream if you want. I'm never that strict with quantities either - doesn't really matter if you're a little short or over with any of the ingredients.
2oz (50g) butter
1 large onion
2 large potaoes - diced (approx 1cm)
1 pt (600ml) stock - I use veg stock - you can use chicken
1lb (450g) leeks - shredded or cut into 1cm dice - I use slicing blade on my food processor
5fl oz (150ml) double cream or creme fraiche
1. Melt 1/4 butter and fry onion for a couple of mins til softened.
2. Add potato & cook for a couple of mins, stirring.
3. Add stock and simmer 8-10 mins or until potato soft
4. Increase heat til almost boiling and add leeks, cook for 5-6 mins till leeks tender
5. Add cream or creme fraiche (***if using creme fraiche you will need to add a little of the soup liquid to the creme fraiche & mix in, then add to soup to stop it from separating).
6. Add remaining butter & bring up to the right temperature & season to taste.
I tend to blitz half of it to keep it a bit chunky or you can eat it as it is or blitz all of it. Butter and cream not essential but it does make a difference.
You can eat it with lots of lovely bread from your BM!!0
