Nothing to do with techie terms."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Can someone please explain what "NAT" is?
I know it's fairly important, but apart from that - haven't a clue!:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

I assume the NAT here is Network Address Translation, which essentially allows a router to designate it's own IP addresses within it's local area network so it can distribute internet information between different computers when it only has a single IP address from the "point of view of the internet". Just going from my vague understanding, haven't read this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_address_translation but maybe it will explain it better than I can."She is quite the oddball. This may be (yet another) stupid question, but how would that tie in with file-sharing (bit-torrent)?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Probably in setting up port forwarding on the router correctly, but can't really discuss torrent and peer 2 peer filesharing. Although it can be used legally because of the poliferation of illegal material it's against forum rules to discuss it."She is quite the oddball. Morning.
Could anyone help me please? I'm working on a new laptop, and the screen appearance is a lot different to my other one. It makes reading the site quite difficult.
I've looked around various sites for the answer but I got lost as I'm a techiephobe
Is an ideal 1024 x 768 pixels? Or is it a case of twiddling about until you find a personal preference? It was on 1280 x 800 pixels which I changed to 1280 x 768 but it's not a lot better. Am I looking in the wrong place?

The standard sizes nowadays are 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024. Some people still use 800 x 600 if they find higher resolutions to small to see.
Remember a HIGHER resolution will things on it seem smaller but clearer. LOWER resolution means things appear larger.
If it's widescreen then I think the sizes are 1680 x 1050 and 1440 x 900.
I wouldn't recommend going above these since if you're monitor can't handle it you won't see anything on screen and you might accidentally accept it and cause problems for yourself.0 -
Because LCD screens have fixed size pixels they have a 'default' resolution where they look good. Any other resolution above or below this will not look sharp. Really you need to set it to whatever the 'default' resolution should be.It's my problem, it's my problem

And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
