Hi everyone! Naomi (aka ARTYSTITCHES) has just posted a message on the Yahoo board with an update on 8" squares received and also to ask that, once she has received our 8" squares, we send any 7" ones that we make to one of her other area co-ordinators (addresses on my very first post). She is due to have her baby very very soon and, obviously, will be busy doing other things!

Hi Bargainbird - if you look at the very first post on this thread it contains all the details about the squares. We were making 8" squares but the blankets they were for are completed now; however, Operation Elderly Charity Stitchers need 7" squares, knitted, crocheted, quilted or cross-stitched, for their ongoing blankets. All the information for them is on the first post. We are currently knitting and crocheting baby hats for www.lovinghands.org.uk - they have lots of free-to-download patterns on their site and will also supply wool and needles if required. We generally use double knitting yarn for our projects. Please feel free to join our Yahoo group on this link http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/Wooligan/
I do hope you join us and good luck with learning to crochet; if you google 'crochet tutorial' you'll find lots of links to online sites. One of our number has recently taught herself to knit and is doing brilliantly!

Thanks Pink!
The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.

Hi everyone, WOW your hat totals are racing along without me!you'll be on the next challenge soon lol!
I just wanted to say that when I laid the squares out on the floor last night it really struck me how much work everyone had put into this project. I really hope I can do you all justice and I'm glad that folk seem happy with the layouts so far. I'll keep you updated on my progress.
Hello to all the new folks that have started to knit for the preemies, you're great!!
Lots of love, laineydoing what I do best...trying!!-- lainey :j

Hi Lainey - we are all confident that you will do a fantastic job sewing up the squares! As for the hats, I decided to remove the target of 50 because we're at 41 already! It doesn't really matter how many we do because the need for them is ongoing. I am sending off at least 16 on Monday, ten of them from my Mum, LilyMay! She's not online, I just gave her a forum name which she's thrilled about!

Morning all, I haven't managed to do any knitting this week due to laying a patio for DD, but hope to do some over the weekend.
Lainey........ I gave a parcel to DH to post on Monday ( last 4 Smokelets squares ) and was horrified to find it sitting in the boot of the car yesterday  I'll get it in the post today, so sorry. Well done all.:T0
