I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels welled up when reading through this thread, the amount of love and kindness shown is overwhelming. I stumbled across the OS page a few weeks ago by clicking on the wrong link which has turned out to be the RIGHT click. Because of that I am privilaged to be a part of our kniting group.
A huge well done to everone of you, if there was a slap on the back icon it would go to Lainy and Moilliere. :A
Love to all Beth x

Betheethebee and Catz - what lovely words; you've made ME well up now and I'm blushing! It's been an honour doing this and making such good friends at the same time. I've really enjoyed it and am so grateful for all your time, effort and enthusiasm. Long may Wooligans continue - I do hope you take up the next challenge!
Lainey - the photo is fantastic. It made me feel very emotional to see all those squares in one place - and none of us has ever met! How incredible is that? Thanks for posting the photo!
I have had a wonderful response to my email to www.lovinghands.org.uk/ which I will post about later when I've had a chance to read it all. I have had family round this afternoon, which was great after the morning spent super-cleaning the kitchen, so I haven't had time to concentrate on it. Will read it after dinner and post again.
Kathy

I entirely agree with the comments I have read, this site has been an eye opener for me,so many nice people doing things for others, and giving generously the most precious thing we possess nowadays.....time....
I for one will carry on with the knitting/crochet squares and anything else that the "Wooligans" come across.
Well done everybody
Especially the one who pulled us all together mioliere, and lainey for all her hard work in sorting and sewing the products of our labours. :T :T :T

Well, have enjoyed my day doing my squares. Special thanks to Mioliere and Lainey who are so instrumental in this going on.
My squares being pressed at the moment - I pin them out and then put them under the cushion on the settee and and them sit on them - I find it is better than using the iron.
Another tip I learnt years ago is if you drop a stitch use a crochet hook to pick up. One more - I always pull wool out from inside middle of ball when casting on which makes it easier and you don't have to take the outside wrapper off!

Hi grannybroon, what a good idea about the blocking, made me chuckle too!! I pull my wool from the middle too, theres nothing worse than a ball rolling off the sofa is there? lol!
pippa, mioliere will add yours, tattycaths, pink 1970's and grannyb's squares to her list in the morning no doubt.
I make that an extra 16 today! 11 to go! I have a half done one so that means we need ten, how many more are on the needles folks? if you can let me know we can keep track and know when we have enough iyswim?
luv n hugs to all, Lainey.xxxxdoing what I do best...trying!!-- lainey :j
