Morning everyone and welcome to the newbies! All your contributions are very welcome and will all go to deserving causes.
I will update my total soon although I have to confess that my Mum knitted some squares as soon as I had told her about our venture so the total includes hers! She already has loads of wool but went to buy some for something else she is knitting and, when she told the lady in the wool shop about our blankets, she reduced the price of the wool by 50% and went to find some odd bits 'out the back' to give her, too! We are really spreading the word.
I started squares for Smoky's blanket last night and will carry on with those from now on.
Anyway, off to update my sig and Lainey's running total.
Catch up with you all later and hope you all remembered to put the clocks forward - extra daylight this evening!

Morning all, I don't seem to be able to find the address to send Smokie's squares to, I have done 4 now. I chose a lovely Jade colour for the squares, the meaning of Jade in crystal form signifies increase of courage, energy consentrated and strengthening of the heart, all of which I wish for Smokie.
Does anyone know how many squares are needed for the blanket?
Many thanks for any help. Well done to allWooligans :A0 -
Betheebee - have pm'd you.

Hi, there! Back from a weerk's holiday, and glad to see that the blanket squares are coming on.
I notice that we've completed our target of 8" squares (63 if I remember) - well done everyone! Are we continuing with that size for charity and making another blanket? Or should I move to 9" squares?

Where did you get 9" squares from
You haven't posted the recipe for sweet piadines yet. I've just come back on and checked.
We are still doing the 8" squares for HTA. They'll just get more than one blanket I expect. And we are doing 8" squares for Smoky's blanket. In any colour of your choice. Not than I can talk, I just got my wool yesterday and haven't started yet.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
morning all, I don't know about you lot but I've missed that hour already lol!!
beethebee , i'm looking forward to getting all the squares so i can start sewing smokys blanket up.
I think what I'll do is this... once I have received enough squares I'll arrange them on the floor in a few different patterns, take some pics and let you lot decide which one to go with, how does that sound?
mioliere- i've just looked the running totals and it's 77 1/2 for HTA and 23 & 2 halves for Smoky, can you edit your post rather than me make another long post for folks to read iyswim?. I'll start another square today hopefully.
by the way folks, Mrs Moneypenny's squares are the two lovely warm coloured ones at the top of the pic in my avatar.
right...off to make brekkie and then put some stuff on ebay, no rest for the wicked heeheehee!!!
catch y'all later!!!;-)doing what I do best...trying!!-- lainey :j

From this post - I meant 7" (rather than 9"). I recalled that the
OECS wanted something different from 8"
Isn't it past your bedtime in the AntipodesYou'll get your sweet piadine recipe when you wake

Gosh - everyone is doing so well. I am nearly finished my third square but I'm bored of my rusty orange coloured wool, so off to ebay to find a brighter colour for smokey's blanket.
In bruce forsyth styleeee "keeeeeep Knitting!"r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0
