  • Does anyone know if Wilkinsons (Wilco) have wool and knitting needles ?

My search on freecycle was none eventful... OOooh i did get invited to join a craft group. But had to contribute to cost of room.. Ok that i wouldnt mind but i am housebound and dont even own a set/pair of knitting needles or a ball of wool ;) Its been 26 years since i knitted and i think i can still remember how ... just :)

My friend can go to Wilco for me tomorrow if anyone can tell me which size needles i have to ask her to buy... if they do them

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi there everyone.

Not posted on here yet but have made 1 x square for HTA and am in the process of making one for Smokey. Could someone add the HTA square to the list for me?
    Thanks Wanna

Hi Chocolate.orange - we are using size 8 (4mm) needles with DK yarn and most of us find that 40sts will measure 8" across once you start knitting. The needle size is standard and is probably the most commonly used size so your friend shouldn't have trouble finding them. Good luck - hopefully, once you've cast on it will all come back to you but, if not, on page three of this thread (I think) MAYTAURUS has posted a link to an excellent learning-to-knit site. I've been knitting for years and found loads of stuff I didn't know on there!

WANNASAVE - thanks so much for joining the thread and for your contributions. I shall update Lainey Startdust's list and my sig now!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just finished another square for the OEC! I have cast on for another but now need to rest my fingers as they are quite painful, so frustrating as I want to keep going:rolleyes:

CATZNINE - please don't risk any more pain to your fingers; I know how frustrating it can be, though, because I get tendonitis in my hands and I have to keep stopping.

I'll update the total with yours and TWINK's new squares - I hope to finish another one tonight.

    Well good evening wooligans!

I don't know I leave you alone for a couple of days and you all get knitted away with yourselves! It's great.

Haven't had time for any knitting this weekend had too many other things going on.

Hope to get to the Post Office tomorrow to post the HTA squares to OECS.

So then tomorrow evening I can get back onto Smokey's squares. Need to go in the loft and see what other colours I have though as I'm nearly out of wool again!

    Happy knitting/crocheting.

    Byeeeee

Does anyone know if Wilkinsons (Wilco) have wool and knitting needles ?

Yes they do, Poundland sometimes has wool too, and Aldi and Lidl. I saw some wool in Aldi last week.

Moiliere - Now finished 3 8" warm coloured squares. Will some for some wool tomorrow for SB. Need to get these to who/wherever before we go off next Tuesday. May see if I can leave them with P-Pen.

Will look at 7" when I get back.
