Shezmit - I can't believe you got told off on Loving Hands! I thought the most important thing was getting the knitted items to the babies who so desperately need them, as soon as possible. I thought it was a good idea, especially as saving the postage means there's more money available for buying knitting wool! I wonder if it would be OK if people put a note in with any deliveries they want to do locally to say that the items are still being knitted on behalf of Loving Hands? I don't know what else to say, I'm afraid.

    Hi there

i know i thought it was out of order with me being told off, but they want everything to go through loving hands, i think if Lou was a round she would be ok with it,

If you want to know what hospitals are in need of items please let me know which hospital and i will look through my paperwork from the hospitals and let you know.

i only send Loving hands items which we get that is not suitable for babies that Lou can use for Bythleswood if i spelt that right,

I am happy to refund postage cost to any one who want to send to PREEMIESUK that is not a problem.

But we are still in need of a few items

    Sleeping bags
    Buntings
    Vents
    Wraps
    Angel pockets
    Cardies

    Thanks everyone

P.S Pippa your parcel arrived yesterday morning thankyou so much

    Hi everybody,
I have just been in to the LH site, to see if there were any more developments since Friday, but the thread has disapeared.

Like kathy I thought it was a good idea, in fact I still do, so I will continue to send to you Shelley , and I don't expect the postage refunded, I don't pay it OH does, he said its his contribution to the charities. I will also send to LH, as they do so much for those in need.

Also we had a personal tragedy a few years ago, our niece gave birth to a full term stillborn baby, heartbreaking is'nt the word for it.
So we understand the feelings of these little mites parents.

I do think charity work of any kind is a deeply personal thing, and we each must do what we feel is right for us, and feel happy doing. After all its done and given with a good heart, and in my case a lot of enjoyment.

    What does everyone else think???

Glad the parcel arrived safely Shelley :D

    Hi everyone.

Shelley - I shall be sending to you shortly and I don't want the postage refunded either. Like Pippa, my family has known the sadness of a full-term still born baby (my sister's) and to be able to help those going through the same nightmare is something I really want to do. You're so right, Pippa, the pain and heartbreak is unbearable. I shall also knit for my local hospital (because the main hospital here brought my teenage son through four serious operations and the maternity unit safely delivered my two precious grandchildren and their lovely Mum though difficult caesarians). I shall continue to knit for Loving Hands, too. The most important thing is that the desperately needed items get to those who need them as quickly as possible.

Mrs Moneypenny - I shall update with your hats a bit later on today. I am just finishing a vent hat so will get that done and then do some more IS hats.

I also need to get my square done for Lou. Sue from LH sent me two squares - I've sent the pink one to my Mum for her to embroider her forum name (even though she's not online - I made up one for her!) and I've kept the lavender-coloured one for me to do. I must also send four knitted squares to OECS so the Post Office will be getting a visit from me this week. Thank heavens I still have one within walking distance!

Well, I laughed at Pippa apologising for her 'long' post - sometimes I just can't stop typing and mine go on and on!

    Hello everybody,
I am so pleased I did'nt offend anyone with my thoughts, and Preemies will not lose out on the tiny things we knit.

Shelley I live about 1/2 mile away from The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, are they on your list? or would you rather I send my items to you, so that you can send them out to the hospitals in greatest need. I really dont mind either way.
Thank you Kathy and mrs-moneypenny for your kind responses :T
It really is surprising how many of us have been touched by sadness involving children.
