Hi Anne
Your Vents has turned up and saturday THANK YOU SO MUCH, These hats are so much appreciated,Knitting for premature babies and babies that are born to soon :T
TOTAL: 4 SANDS BLANKET, 18 CROCHETED BLANKETS, 4 GOWNS, 2 SLEEPING BAG (PRIVATE REQUEST), 1 BIB, 8 BOOBS, 3 CARDIES, 9 VENTS, 3 KNITTED BLANKETS, 1 PAIR OF BOOTIES, 1 HAT,0 -
Hi Ianna. It sounds as if you are doing really well and dont be afraid to ask questions as there will always be someone here to help.
It means yarn over---- you are kniiting 1 stitch and then putting the wool over the needlefrom front to back which makes a loop. Then you knit 2 together. This is usually used to make little holes for ribbon to be threaded through. On the next row you knit as normal and the loop or yarn over makes a stitch to make your total right because you have knitted 2 together.
Hope this makes sense. If not come back to meTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi all! For some reason, everytime I called into the OS forums, this thread didn't come up so I thought it had gone really quiet. I've just checked and you've all been really busy! There is a lot of updating to do so I shall do that a bit later when DH has gone to work. I'm sorry if you all felt I was not bothering to update.
Chalky - you must have got through miles and miles of wool - well done on some fantastic totals! Puts me to shame.
Ianna - you've done really well - I shall add you and SoozyJ22 on to the list when I update.
Shez - that's a great pattern; I think I'll start one today.
It's taken me a while to get straight after the wedding and also I have been so tired over the last couple of days, which I think is down to the fact that the last few weeks have been pretty hectic! I had several guests at the weekend and, in the end, just gave up on the housework and joined in all the fun - consequently, the house looked like a tip. Anyway, I am now more organised and have caught up with myself, IYSWIM!
Will call in later and do the promised update - our totals are looking fantastic. By the way, my Mum brought a load of stuff with her so I shall update her totals too!

Thanks for the update mioliereThe object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane — Marcus Aurelius0 -
Maytaurus - how did you find that early morning piccie of me?! I thought I had destroyed it!
Pippa - I forgot to mention you in my last post. I am gradually getting my time back after the last few frantic weeks and thanks for keeping the newbies informed while I was AWOL! We have 69 members on Wooligans now! 6 have joined in the last couple of days so I think it will get livelier as the evenings draw in. How awful to think that way but I think it's been such gloomy weather lately that I am starting to get in to my 'get ready for winter' mode!
I shall try and post pictures on the Wooligans group of the new things my Mum has made soon.
Anyway, back to the chores and I'll pop back and update later on!

Hi everyone; back for the big update!
My Mum has knitted 1 blanket, 1 cardie, 1 STC hat, 2 pairs of booties, 1 bunting, 2 teddies and another 3 with bags - they're not the Teddies for Tragedy because they're a bit smaller, but I'm sure they'll find lovely homes through Loving Hands! She has also knitted four more squares for OECS.
I hope I have got everyone's totals right - please feel free to correct me! Well done to everyone for your stupendous efforts. It's wonderful to see so many of you taking such time and trouble. I hope to get going again this afternoon!
The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.
