Just looking at these totals, isn't it amazing just how much we have achieved since March, not even five months ago?! On top of the current figures, we have also made three adult blankets and three children's blankets and we're still going strong. I still can't believe how this idea has grown and grown.

Thank you everyone - for your time, your skills, your generosity and your warm-heartedness! Just think how many people's lives we have touched and helped! And how many more in the future!

I'll be thinking of Lou today and hoping that, when they take her off the machine, she can breathe for herself. Fingers and everything else will be crossed for her. The world needs more people like her, doesn't it?

    :T Mines right thank you:T

I am not surprised things are a bit up in the air for you at the moment, you do have rather a lot going on dont you, errrmmm was a wedding mentioned

Yes have`nt we all done well, was it only March? goodness me!!!What a lot of stitching since then.

As you say Kathy everything crossed for Lou today, thats why I am up early I could`nt sleep, worrying about her, she is such a lovely kind, caring and generous lady.
I will pop into the LH site I think just for a look see.

Me again Kathy I have been in to the LH site and there is no news on Lou yet.
I noticed though that Shelley from Preemies UK has put a request in for ventilator bonnets and burial wraps, as she is running out of them.
I have just printed the pattern off for the bonnets and will have a go later, I`ve not done them before so it may take a while to sort out, they can be done in 3 or 4 ply and Dk, so lots of choice.

Hi Pippa - I've just been on Loving Hands and saw Shelley's request. I'll try and start something this week if I can and I'll tell my Mum, too. I'll keep checking for news of Lou.

Shaz - Thanks for that. I'll update with your scarf later; there may be other items to add at the end of the day.

    Hi Kathy,
I did a ventilator bonnet last night, it did`nt take long at all, they are quite small, and easier than I thought.
I only have DK so did as Shelley suggested and used size 10 needles
and it turned out good. Just got to look in the button tin now for a suitably sized one, and thats it, I havent got ribbon but Shelley said she does`nt mind doing the finishing off, I think the main thing is her supplies dont go down too low.

Hi Pippa - I'll update later this evening. I'm not getting any knitting done now while I get the wedding favours finished! I am missing the knitting a lot and can't wait to get going again. I'll try a ventilator bonnet, too.

Hi everyone. I'm just updating - didn't get round to it last night because I had unexpected visitors!

My Mum (I've given her the forum name of LilyMay even though she's not online!) has made some more things which she is bringing up when she comes for the wedding - did I mention that my youngest son is getting married on Friday?!!!)

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.

Finally done it! After finishing a blanket that had been incomplete for years, yesterday morning I made 2 I.S. hats and 1 preemie hat (so small and cute!) My 11 daughter is making a origins scarf - do you think it will matter if its not perfect:D .

Can you take knitting needles in hand luggage? We are going on hols tomorrow and would like to take it with me.

Hi Craftlady - I'm sure the scarf will be just right even if it's not perfect! It's lovely that your daughter wants to knit, too.

I will update towards the end of the day with your hats .

I really don't know about taking knitting needles in hand luggage, I'm afraid, but it might be an idea to contact the airline itself. If they say no, then perhaps you could buy some needles while you are out there? Of course, you'd have to leave them there but, if you are staying in a hotel you could maybe hand them in at reception on the day you leave; someone might be glad of them! You'd have to thread your stitches onto a length of different coloured wool if you were halfway through something. Have a great holiday whether you knit or not!
