i'm praying everything will be alright and Lou can hold her own once the machine is turned off. Its such a shock that something so serious has happened as the result of a seemingly minor slip

Hi all. Pippa - I've just realised that I forgot your last update! So sorry. Will do that this afternoon - I have written a great big note to remind myself. I went on to the LH site yesterday and I couldn't find the info about Lou - I'll have another look.

Mrs Moneypenny - we are all praying for her; she's not far from my thoughts. If prayers were enough on their own, she'd be well and back home by now. We are all willing her through this. It's strange how we are all just 'virtual' friends yet feel real and genuine concern for each other. It would be so nice if we could all meet up one day; I just know we'd all get on like a house on fire!

I bagged some bargain wool in my local charity shop this morning. A 400g ball of cream Aran and two 100g balls of cream and blue chunky. Ideal for crocheting cushion covers for someone for Christmas. They only wanted a £1 for the lot.

I'm sorry but I can't remember who mentioned using duvet stuffing as toy stuffing (Maytaurus?) but, I've just been in to Hobbycraft to pick up the rest of the ribbons that I needed for the wedding favours and their toy stuffing was £7.99 for the smallest bag! I'm sure I only paid £1.99 a year or so ago for one that size in my wool shop. I will definitely be cannibalising the brand new spare single duvet that I have still in its wrapping.

Will catch up and update later.

    Hi Kathy,
Just popped in to find a post from a while ago, and noticed my totals are wrong....it should be
    STC = 14.....IS = 20 Sorry:o

OH asked me last night how many I`ve done now, and when I told him 20 he said thats £10 for age concern then, I had`nt really though of it like that before. Then I remembered reading on here someone ( I apologise because I cant remember who it was now,and I cant find the post) said she is aiming for 100, so that will be £50 for them
Unbelievable really isnt it, for just using up our bits of wool we are adding to the funds for age concern.
I must say though I am enjoying doing them. Before I joined this forum I would have thrown all my little left over bits away thinking they were no use:eek: how wrong can you be.

Hi all - Sorry, Pippa, I think I'm in wedding mode these days! I'll update later - I'll try and get it right then!

Mrs Moneypenny - I'll update with your latest totals a bit later. I've done my boob but will hang on to it for now until we hear more about Lou. It looks quite good on my coffee table! It's become a conversation piece so I may make another one to replace it!

Wokkie - thanks for the link to that article. I found it very interesting! There'll be knitted boobs all over the UK soon!

Sorry wokkies I meant to thank you for the link, its really good and very interesting, I am sure the ladies on the LH site are doing some for Tommee Tippee, as well as for the women who cannot use the conventional prosthesis after they have had a mastectomy.

Right - I am determined to get the totals correct this time!

Here is the latest update but please tell me if I have still got it wrong. I have really tried to concentrate, I promise! I'm ashamed to say that I haven't done anything this week because DS2's wedding has taken things over a bit (well, more than a bit!) but I am determined to get cracking again next week!

Just looking at these totals, isn't it amazing just how much we have achieved since March, not even five months ago?! On top of the current figures, we have also made three adult blankets and three children's blankets and we're still going strong. I still can't believe how this idea has grown and grown.

Thank you everyone - for your time, your skills, your generosity and your warm-heartedness! Just think how many people's lives we have touched and helped! And how many more in the future!

I'll be thinking of Lou today and hoping that, when they take her off the machine, she can breathe for herself. Fingers and everything else will be crossed for her. The world needs more people like her, doesn't it?
