searching teh web for tips on points in certain foods, the following website gives almost everything, but when i compare it to other ones, it's a bit different! http://quiddity.cc/rachel/diet/wwfoods.htm

That is an American website, and I know from my USA friends that the points are worked out different from the UK WW, so stick to the UK way of pointing otherwise your points wont be right. Hope that helps.

Have you tried quorn? I find you need a bit more sauce as it absorbs it like a sponge.

According to my book the Tesco light choice mince is 3 points per serving (which is fine by me!) but wondered if anyone had actually tried it. Lol.

Wouldnt mind trying quorn but my OH would kill me, lol. Hes a proper carnivore!!

Is it me or has anyone else noticed that the points values on foods are creeping up - when I last did WW about 4 yrs ago some of the same foods as I'm eating now were less points - now this is either due to a massive conspiracy between all the food companies to make us all fatter or ww have changed their way of calculating points.

  • Hello everyone,

Been reading through the thread and I would like to join in.

I have been loosely following weightwatchers points on at home I have an old database calculator bought about 10 years ago.

Things have come to a crunch for me today, I am a smoker but as of last night I have not had one and I am on the patches I have started to suffer breathing pain in my chest as of the beginning of the week ( I don't think heart attack or anything like that just purely down to smoking) It has scared me so for the second time in my life I am on the patches.

Problem being I have also been trying to follow a loose diet since just after Christmas, I eat healthy during the week lots of veg and chicken etc, I try to fit in some wii fit, I do not drive so walk everywhere school run errands etc, (only go in the car mostly at weekends) then at weekend I have wine or whatever I want to eat.

First day not smoking and I WANT to snack replace one vice for another one. I say vice but for me I don't comfort eat its just I LOVE food. I do not have a sweet tooth I just love food I prefer a good hearty meal to Crisps or chocolate, which I hardly ever eat.

My usual pattern of loosing weight is that I drop nearly a stone and get stuck. (though I do realise the weekends do not do me any favours) I have currently lost half a stone since christmas and was doing quite well.

I understand alot about food my mother on a constant diet all her life, eventually she had a gastric bypass which potentially saved her life.

I guess I am worried that by stopping smoking and dieting at the same time I am setting myself up for a fall too much all at once so I suppose I found myself here looking for support.

For the first time I have also started a food diary I am really serious about not failing either of my vices, I have a BMI of 28.32 and I am about 5.9 which I consider myself to be about 2 stone overweight my current weight is 13.05.

We as a family like to do alot of trail walking average about 7mile circular walks but the weather has been so bad that has not been possible.

sorry for long post the first are always the hardest to explain what you want to say.

    todays food diary

    B 2 Weetabix with skimmed milk 2.5
L 250g of frozen Chinese stirfry Veg boiled in the micro in a jug of water
185g drained tuna in brine 3

D I plan to have large chicken breast (quartered from a whole chicken) 4
    120g golden veg rice 6
    side salad

Can anyone tell me if these points look right as I am guessing the chicken with it being part of a whole chicken and I am working from the old calculator.

    Many thanks

    again apologise for long post.
