I agree with the other replies, I sometimes buy WW if they are on offer as they are quite expensive. Supermarket own brand healthy eating items are usually as good. This site works out WW points if you enter the calories and sat fat and is more accurate than the charts. Obviously cant carry it round when shopping :D

Hi everyone so glad to find the WW thread. I joined Slimming World last week and after following the plan for three days and trying to work out the menu for the next few days red or green days I had enough.

I do find WW so much easier to fit in with the family. I am going to try and do WW myself at home first and I will weigh myself every Wednesday.

One tip I do have is if you like porridge and are starving by evening to have about 30grams worth which is 1.5 points with skimmed milk and a little bit of sugar. I find it a life saver as it keeps me going for rest of evening.

I've been my goal weight with WW for 2 years now, I did managed to lose a few more pounds to give me a buffer and was running loads, but due to a long term health problem, I had to give up and I put a few on. Now I'm recovering from an op (which has hopefully fixed it!) and I am back on the WW to lose a couple of pounds and hopefully I can start running.

I also support my sister who has 4 - 5 stone to lose. She started with me and did really well and lost 3 1/2 stone, but then went through divorce and put a stone back on, she is also back in the fold - so we are trawling through websites for recipes.

A good tip is veg, veg, veg!!! When you plate up your food, do the veggies first and put on as many as you can and then the other stuff (you shouldn't have too much room left:rotfl: )

Also - you need to change your thinking a little, nothing is forbidden! If you know you can have it, even if it's a small slice / piece then have it.

My downfall is also wine, but I've really cut down, but again if I want it I'll have it.;)

I'm not that keen on all the ww products as they are so full of artificial stuff, that I would rather make my own and have less of it:A

Good luck - I'll try and keep tabs on this one too!

Another thing you need in bucketloads is patience! You didn't wake up one morning and be a size  , so you're not going to wake up a size 10 just 'cos you're on a diet :D . A loss of 1 - 2lb a week is good, even if it's 1/2 lb, come home take that tub of margarine out the fridge and realise you're not carrying that around anymore. Some weeks you won't lose and maybe even put a 1lb on, even if you've eaten the same. It happens, knotch it up to experience and keep going - you may find it works itself all out the following week :T

Shame I don't always practice what I preach :o
  • Hi I stopped smoking 9 months ago and have gained a stone in weight. Although I feel alot healthier I must admit the weight gain is gettingg me down. I joined ww but have only lost 3lbs in 8 weeks and so feel a bit disappointed as everyone is telling me I should have lost more. I stay for the meetings but to be honest I dont find them helpful. I'm using e source which I find is very good for recipes but I am getting bored and disalussioned. I'm drinking loads of water and am walking for miles and miles and milessssss. any tips?
