Right stupid question everyone......
Now according to my lovely little book carrots, parsnip and swede are all point free
BUT, if I was to cook them (steam them) would they still be point free? I mean could I have a roast, and have ALOT less roast potatoes but pile on the other veg? Thinking that the veg is point free
Does this make sense? I got confused because when I looked at the carvery section in the eating out guide it actually gave point values for the vegetables mentioned above. Dont know if this is to do with the cooking methods used though...
No question is stupid. The vegatables stated are free as long as you dont cook them with any fats, sauce etc. In the eating out guide Toby for example put butter / cream / cheese into thier veg and that it why they have points. Hope this helps.Josey0 -

Hi all,
I've not been back so far because I 'only' lost half a point this week and was hoping for at least 1lb loss to take me back to pre-christmas weight...ho hum...anyway, I use the online tracker and saw this on an TV ad...may be useful to someone (I've posted it on the freebie board too).

Welcome to everyone who's posted :hello:
Had a great week so far, since my gym induction on Tuesday I've done 4 hours at the gym and I can already feel a difference! Totally surprised myself with how much I'm enjoying it, because literally as little as 3 months ago I was a total exercise-phobe!
Was just wondering, does anyone here who attends meetings still weigh themselves at home? I have to admit I weigh myself about 3 times a week at home, just to see if I'm on track - I know it's not recommended but I find it keeps me motivated! The scales are saying I've lost about 2lbs already this week which is great newsxxx

Just been out walking for a couple of hours to a local country park and on the way back decided to stop at a Toby carvery, must have been because we were talking about it earlier. Anyway pointed it up on my return - 1 slice gammon, 1 slice turkey, lots of veg, no potatoes or Yorkshire pudding and it came out at 7 points for a large plate full. I guessed 2 points for one of thier apple and mango drinks, so all together not bad at all.Josey0

Had a recipe thought...
My mum used to make a stew when we were kids and I LOVED it. It was one tin of tomato soup, one tin of water, carrots, swede, 1 large potato and a beef stock cube. Left to simmer for a long time so it thickens up.
But working out the points on this I think it would be about:
Tin of soup (well 2 weightwatchers cans): 2 points
Water: 0
Carrots: 0
Swede: 0
Potato: 2 points
So thats 4 points, right? Lol. And it lats for a good 3 bowls fullSo Id say 1.5 points per portion....
Plus can you freeze vegetable stew?? ....Green and White Barmy Army!0 -

I think that would freeze ok? I freeze everything! I would say if you are going to freeze it, bring it out let it defrost then simmer it again to thicken (sp) it up, rather than microwaving it:D lol thats probs what u where gonna do anyway lol:rotfl:0
