I did SW for about 2 yrs and lost 4 stone but i found it hard work towards the end and boring, i missed my snacks as the syns values on sw didnt give me enough to enjoy a snack.

i put on a stone when i stopped SW and 8 months later i joined WW ( friends recomendation) i didnt think i could cope with the weighing etc but i now find 2 weeks in its a doddle. i have the scales on the side all the time i weigh my plate or bowl then add the items im using and then just eat if not needing cooking.. My other half has lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks and i lost 4ilbs first week and hope 5 this week (WI tomorrow)

I would go to the meetings as i find these a valuable source of information from other members and i also did a monthly pass to make me go every week but also the information you get from esource online..

I have cooked some lovely meals that i wouldnt normally do using what i buy as usual. have the treats i want to stop me cravings and im well pleased with WW (didnt think i would be)

I have 10 stone to lose and my other half 6 stone and so far so good we on our way ..
Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.

well done Nat - you're doing really well, that's a great weight loss.
I stopped going to the gym last year after a back injury & really need to do something to tone up again. How about getting some dvds that you can do at home. I've bought some that are 10 minute workouts for different parts of your body. You can do just the 10 mins or several of them if you've got more time.

If you want any ideas, let me know & I'll tell you which I bought.

Gert - go for WW. I'm a failed gold member (got to goal twice & maintained for a few years until my back injury) I'm back with it again because I KNOW it works! You wont look back - except at the lbs ;)

    Morning all and welcome newbies!

I have nothing to report today except I have lunch out most of this week so not looking too hopeful for WI unless I can work my butt off down the gym to make up for it :p

    hi all..

puddings how do you do the butternut chips is it part boil then frylight and baked in oven??

I just peel, chop into chip shapes, frylight and bung in the oven about 200 degrees for half hour ish - depending on the thickness of the chips! So no, no par boiling..

I did SW for a while and did lose weight but it didn't teach me about portion size or understanding when I was full - and that is/was my problem! I have a friend who does SW though and does really well - I think each to their own really. I LOVE WW :D

Exercisewise I gym 3-4 times a week for about an hour, mixture of cardio and weights - depends what i fancy or can be bothered to do!

Good luck with the lunches out. I stopped at the supermarket on my way to work this morning & bought 2 packets of WW sandwiches and a WW salad for the rest of my lunches this week, as well as lots of fruit. Am feeling v pleased with myself :)

You make the squash sound so easy. How do you peel & chop it? I burnt off tons of calories last week when I tried to do that!! hehe

Hey moonflowers, you don't need to take the skin off a butternut squash. If you cut it into your chips and leave it on then it goes really soft and is totally edible, like wedges, or you can peel it off later. If you have a little chilli salt on them they taste amazing, I love squash!

Lol so true! The preparation of a butternut squash is a MISSION!!

Ok, what do I do.... I peel with a V peeler then I chop off the top and bottom to give it a sturdy base sitting on its fat bottom. Then get my big knife and slice lengthways down from the top (probably dangerous) Then I have 2 halves. Scoop out the seeds. then chop into slices, then chop each semi circle into chip shapes. Does that make any sense??? I should take pictures this evening of each stage :D

cool, pics would be great!! :)

I tried to cut thin slices to make crisps but didnt manage that. Praps I should go for the thicker ones instead next time. Btw, how long do you roast them for to make them go nice & crispy?

Oh I also chop the whole thing into chips at once and put into tupperware so I can take a handful of chips out whenever I need them, they seem to last about 5-7 days I think before going a bit wierd...

Hmm, I think they are normally in the oven for about half an hour at 200-210 degrees. I don't pay much attention, stick 'em on when i get in from the gym and have a shower whilst they cook. When they go crispy it's more often than not when I've forgotten they're in there! Tbh though they rarely go crispy like normal potato chips..
