Absolutely. If you are required to declare the win and decide not to, that is dishonest.0

If it takes you over the lower threshold for IS of 6k then then you will have to declare it so the admin staff can start calculating happily the deductions from your IS. As you have not touched that limit you have no duty to declare it. If you had and did not do so then you will be commiting fraud as the rules are there. It is these rules that entitle you in the first place so you have to respect them honestly.
With so many posts and threads lately on how best to *fiddle* the system you my friend are a VERY refreshing change:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! If they paid direct in cash, people on means tested benefits might have had a chance in not declaring it, unless of course the National Lottery legally have to inform the DWP/HMRC etc of the winnings. However large wins are paid in methods which require a bank account, therefore if someone didn't declare a win they would be running a high risk of being caught because the DWP etc can access all bank account details. The deductions would depend on how much is won.One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
