On Sky multiroom do you get 1 room for 10 pounds? 2 roms for 20 etc?
  • Just checked on the Sky Multiroom faqs for you and yes, it is £10 for each additional box.

Speedy gonzalez - I posted a couple of pages back (couldn't get £49 deal but got new box for £99 plus free installation). When we've looked at the box we've got an 80GB box. I thought we could only record 20 hours but we've done 10 hours already and got most of the space remaining. Haven't got the faintest idea why

  • we got a box as we were going to cancel we have had three boxes no work, they finally came gave us new cables, new dish and new box, all brand new and the new type box and i all works at las.
So I am not posing to gloat..when i phoned sky the last time the guy said i was building up a history and maybe they should bite the bullet and give me a brand new box to show customer care as they didnt want to lose me...and usually this is offered o customers who have had 4 or more faulty boxes..it was discovered after new boxes then wiring i was the brand new LNB placed incorrectly in the beginning, but the sky engineer who replaced the dodgy contractor said we had to have a new dish to make sure!!!!!

SOOOO if you keep getting a bad batch of boxes as it seems this is a common occurence dont let sky off, ring complain and demand satisfaction!!!
I wished upon a star tonight that I would see you once more,
To hold you in my arms and tell you how much I love you,
To hear your voice, to kiss your cheek oh for just one more time,
But all I have are memories and a heart full of love and tears.

    hi,

i phoned up sky and was told i can have the £49 deal (i have to phone back by tonight to confirm)

before, i do i hope someone will be able to answer two questions for me

firstly if you have had the £49 offer and had the actual box installed in the last two weeks or so, did you get given a refurb or a brand new box?

secondly if you sign up to this does it mean you have in effect started another 12 month tie-in with sky? or would you still be free to cancel the sky subsciption in say 3 months?

    thanks for your help
  • I got sky plus about 3 weeks ago and it was a refurbished box. The box was in immaculate condition. Not a mark on it. The only way I know it was refurbished was it came in a plain brown box.
You have to keep your subscription for 12 months. You can't cancel it.
    Hope this helps.

We had our box fitted a few weeks ago. Not sure if it was a refurb or not as was in a proper Sky box (with pictures and information on) and everything was sealed and shrink wrapped. It could be a new box but maybe older stock as I believe they have brought out a newer model since this one. Whatever it is, we are very pleased with it. The only downside is that we have to have the phone line connected again for another 12 months.
  • I am sat waiting for the Sky engineer to come with my £49 Sky+ box today...just had to tell someone, am very excited!!! Hope it's not a dissapointment!! :p

I share your, excitement, we have just rung up (coming to end of 12 months on this SKy box and want Sky+) and we said we wanted to cancel. They offered us the refurb deal at £49 - no mention of multiroom, our package remains at £36. Did say it was the 20gig hardrive but thats good enough for me.

Can't come until 1 October though.

I did read that they change the LNB to a quad (sky+ needs 2) and the other 2 are spares which means you can wire up your other sky box and get the freebie channels.

    Hip hip hoorah. :j :j

Sadly my excitement has now transformed to further Sky driven madness. I was told engineer would be here between 4pm and 7pm....then they contacted me at 2pm to say errr no would be between 5pm and 8pm...then they rang at 8.05pm to say not to be concerned engineer was unexpectedly delayed and was 'on his way'...!!!! I have just rung (10.10pm) and been informed (unsurprisingly!) that he would not be able to make it today!! I was so filled with general aggitation that I made some inappropriate suggestions about what they could do with their Sky+ box and my Sky package in general (I was deflated after my initial expectancy!) and they were soooooooooooo apologetic. Anyhow it has turned out better than expected as they have given me 3 months at half price (full package) and engineer is ringing tomorrow to apologise (hmmmmmmmmm not convinced) and to rearrange installation...BONUS...my inner calm is restored...
